Hi, travelers!Just about two weeks ago I've been at Kagga Kamma nature reserve. It were 4 awesome days, even desert around and unbelieveble dryness everywhere!!!We stay in chalet ,but it is plenty places of staying to choose from.Even under the sky: this so-called room , where bed and shower tap and bath under beatiful blue sky in the day and...

Kagga Kamma is a truly unique destination. The peace and tranquillity of the lodge ensures for a remarkable experience. The view of fynbos plains, rock formations and the mountain ranges unfolding is so extraordinary that one has to take a deep breath and look twice to ensure that this is for real. Dinner in the outdoor boma was a highlight....

How often will you get to spend a night in a cave .....with aircon. Was like Bedrock. Was expecting to meet Barney Rubble just around the corner. So lots of fun, but way overpriced. Worth doing for one night only.

This is a great place to spend a couple of days in the peace and quiet. It's a very remote location so a car is a must, and the last part of the journey is unsealed roads, so a sturdy car is best! The food and wine selection is great. On our first night we had dinner outside around an...

This is NOT a 4 star lodge in my books! Let start with the positives; Idyllic setting, Very helpful and friendly staff, the Spa a real treat and the Walking trails are well marked. Now let me explain my opening statement. We stayed in the "Honeymoon cave". There is no telephone or any link to reception. If you want to...

Our stay at one of the self catering chalets was awesome. Watching sunsets from the porch and the stars at night is what Kagga Kamma is all about. If you want true peace and tranquility it gets no better than this. I left with a piece of that silence tucked away in my heart and soul. The only sounds are...

Well I'm not sure where to start on this one!! So I will start with the positives!!! It's in an outstanding location and the staff are great! The stars in the sky looked amazing too!!! Now for the negatives-- it's very expensive! The cave rooms aren't real caves they're man made! The pool area near the cave rooms is very...

The beauty of the area is tipical of the Cederburg mountains mixed with the Karoo.. It is the kind of landscape that makes you consider the meaning of peace and quiet, Kagga Kamma's has a lot of natural history and the accomodation makes it unique. We stayed for Saint Valentine last year and the surprise was to find the room...

We enjoyed our week long stay in a spacious, clean, comfortable and cozy self-catering chalet. The beautiful pool that kept us cool in the extreme heat was within walking distance from our chalet. Dining under the stars with a glowing fire was really beautiful. The Sundowner Game Drive with drinks and snacks was amazing and very informative and is an...

Far removed from everything. Be well prepared. No cell phone reception. Shop / trading station very very limited items. Chalets are excellent and roomy . Best place for hiking but little else to do. Beautiful scenery and plenty of rocks. A good imagination required to see all the animals in the rocks.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kagga Kamma is an absolute treat for travellers seeking a unique and inspiring experience. On your visit you will see a part of Africa that is unlike any other. The Cederberg Mountain’s otherworldly rock formations, a crisp sky stretching endlessly overhead and beautiful rock art from an ancient culture, is the backdrop to a wonderful adventure. Kagga Kamma’s accommodation options are as unique as the landscape it is set in. The Bushman Lodge offers spacious en-suite thatched rondavels/huts. The famous 'cave suites' built against the sandstone rock formations will take you back to a prehistoric time without taking away any modern-day luxuries. Kagga Kamma also offers a one of a kind Outcrop open-air “room” where guests can sleep under the stars in sheer luxury - definitely a not-to-be-missed experience.Speaking of the stars...Take a tour into the milky way when you visit our mini-observatory. It promises to be an inspirational experience when you view the Karoo night skies through our 10-inch telescope. While the sun is out you can opt for a journey back in time with our popular rock art tours. Our expert ranger will interpret the 6000 year old Bushmen paintings and living sites scattered all across the nature reserve.Other activities to be enjoyed at Kagga Kamma include relaxing nature drives with our knowledgeable guides, hiking trails, quad bike safaris, mountain bike trails, a 4x4 route and our Kagga Kamma Relax Spa. Even eating out at Kagga Kamma will be a matchless experience when you visit the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and an outdoor lapa surrounded by beautiful rock formations for dinner under the starlit night skies in summer time. There is also a pub and lounge area with Wi-Fi internet, as well as satellite television for watching sports events. GPS co-ordinates:Latitude: S 32 44 45Longitude: E 19 33 46 ... more   less
