The dirt road (total of approx 32km) is from not bad to short bone rattling, but fun! but if you have a low car I would think again especially for the last aprox 3km. Lets say you know you arrived in a very remote area!...More
We stayed for a week in the chalets. We were very impressed with the friendly personal. They try their best to solve any problem. We also loved their breakfasts. Very cheap and nice.

Hi. Sorry for not replying earlier :(.On our trip there we have passed winelands, orchards and beautiful little towns and breathtaking mountains. There is little opportunity to shop as all the towns are small and don't have much to offer in the way of retail therapy.
There is a small shop at Kagga Kamma which sells the odd tee-shirt or bracelet but nothing else. It's not a trip you take for shopping, more for sightseeing :)
