We stayed here on 9/25/2021. After coming home from a show we found a bed bug. We caught it and brought it to management at the office. He immediately went into the back, discarded the bed bug, and told us" that is not a bed bug but a baby roach". He refunded our money right there. Do not recommend staying here!
We reserved two rooms in this hotel. However, took this hotel's pictures is a magician! they were able to make something subpar look extremely attractive. The rooms were dirty. My friends' beds had poop stains and what we could only assume pubic hair. Their bathtub despite being originally white was brown. Absolutely disgusting. The room was dirty beyond repair. My room was also dirty, the bathroom was appalling. They tried to mask the musty smell of the room with some kind of detergent. The smell was nauseating. My office chair was black full of stains. I did not dare to sit on it. The quality of the linens and towels were also really bad. Also I could hear the guest on the second floor coughing and every door that was being opened/closed near and above me. This is definitely something that nobody wants when vacationing. We spent a few minutes outside of our room in the gazebo looking for a new place. When you face all the challenges we did, the gazebo looks like heaven. When we finally found a new hotel we advised the front desk person. We asked for a refund and she told us that we should seek our refund through booking.com. Of course when we reached out to booking.com they told us that the hotel manager declined our request for refund and that they could not do anything. We had pictures of our rooms showing what they looked like but booking.com did not care. It seems like despite providing a terrible space for us Simplicity Inn felt entitled to keep our money. I was shocked by the lack of honesty from the person who told us to seek our refund through booking.com. I also think that they must gain their money all the time doing this. I learned two lessons in that trip. 1. Never trust online pictures; and 2. Never book anything through booking.com. Simplicity Inn is a terrible place to rest your head, elbow or even your bags! Save yourself by not taking the risk of booking a room with them!…
Do NOT stay here!! Run don’t walk!! The place is loaded with bed bugs and fleas!! There were no security locks on the door. I was in the room for 10 minutes. Sat on the bed and was basically eaten by these bugs. I left- . This place should be shut down. It’s a shame because it in a nice neighborhood.
We booked through booking.com and will NEVER trust their reviews ever again. We are traveling with 4 kids, so we needed a room that could accommodate all of us at once. This "hotel" is more of a motel, with exterior entrances. The room had a musty smell and they didn't turn on the heat, even in 40 degree weather. I could smell the cleaning supplies, so we know they use Pinesol but it didn't help cut the musty odor. The beds were very cheap, springy mattresses and the pillows were completely flat. The bathroom does have a marble floor that looks out of place with the aging carpet and dated decor. The walls are paper thin, if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem as we could hear the TV and conversations from the room downstairs. I feel bad for them as I am sure they heard every one of our footsteps. The two rooms each had a TV. The kitchen area has a small fridge (apartment size), microwave and sink. No coffee in the room, despite the breakfast in lobby being shut down due to the pandemic. Our assigned room was upstairs and the leading up to the door were coming apart -- definitely a trip hazard. For the same price, we could have gotten 2 rooms at the Red Roof and been much more comfortable. This place is a definite "will not return" for us. …
Good price quality because of low price. The motel is old nut the rooms are spacious andere clean. The owners, a couple apparently from India really try to make it work. Negative points: rooms rather dark and very noisy
The outside might not be the flashiest but the room was huge, SUPER clean, and very nice. Spacious. The bed was very comfy. Fluffy pillows. The front desk staff was a 10+ very nice, helpful, courteous, and informative. Bathroom was very big. Lighting was a little dull but the huge windows with natural light made up for it. Very close to the park and the main drag with lots of shops. It was a great stay and I would totally recommend!
Convenient location. Close to the park and walking distance from the restaurants at chocolate Ave. The place is old almost a walk back in time but it's clean. The staff is friendly and the included breakfast is bagels and make your own waffles with some juice and regular hotel coffee ( walk the 5 minutes to Starbucks) but enough to get you going in the morning. There's an in door pool too and parking.
Pros - close to the park - room was clean - water pressure is good Cons - way too expensive for what your get - rooms are really, really old - walls and ceilings are paper thin - rooms are dark and damp like a cave - very poor lightning in the rooms - bed is old and lumpy - the pillows are flat with no support -the WiFi is soooooo slow - the morning breakfast tasted and looked like day old bagels and leftover food Unless you are really desperate, it’s worth driving the extra 10 - 15 minutes to Hampton or other chain hotel.
This was great for a one night stay! Room was comfy and clean! Strong smell of cleaning products but I didn’t see anything being concealed. Second floor room had lovely view. It almost felt like a bed and breakfast. Bathroom was huge but the floor was very cold marble with no mats. Bring slippers and ask for extra towels for the floor. The breakfast coffee was awful though. Went to Hershey Pantry for breakfast, which was fabulous. Motel staff were pleasant and kind. Their accents were strong, but so???? Just take time to try to understand.
The room was spacious but the building is constructed like a house, with creaky wooden floors. On the first floor, you will hear every move that the people above you make. The bottom of the shower curtain(full width, about 8" high) that was VERY pink from mildew stains. Mattress was VERY mushy, pillows were like pancakes.
