This place could easily be misunderstood when you drive up. I think it used to be an Econo Lodge, but is now under new ownership (I could be wrong about that though)… And while I’ve stayed in some very nice Econo Lodges (quick shoutout to the one in Grand Junction, CO), we all know there are some Econo Lodges to be avoided. Like I said, you could easily get the wrong idea about Escape Inn when you first arrive… There isn’t much of a true “first floor.” It’s just a tiny lobby with a staircase surrounded by a parking lot underneath the rooms. That lobby isn’t exactly “fancy” either, even by Econo Lodge standards. However, the rooms themselves are more than adequate. They’re clean, comfortable, and modern enough to serve all your basic needs. We had some noisy neighbors during our stay, but nothing that disrupted our rest, and that brings me to the way in which Escape Inn really sets itself apart: above-and-beyond service. It was very clear when we checked in that they put a lot of thought into making sure every guest has the best experience possible. For example, they try to keep families with children on the lower floor and people with no children on the higher floor. The idea is to keep the pitter-patter of feet on your ceiling to a minimum. I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels and I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed at one that cared about that. As a parent who regularly travels with children, I can think of several situations where it would have been nice to know my kids weren’t stomping all over someone’s ceiling. There aren’t many cons to Escape Inn and the complaints are relatively minimal. It seemed a little over-priced, but that’s how all the hotels in the Hershey area are. The parking lot is also pretty small and cramped.…
My wife only cares about the place being clean and this place was for sure. Nice place. We would stay here again if we come back to Hershey. Very close to restaurants and all the attractions. Did a concert at Giant Center
I needed a place to stay with little notice and didn't want to spend a lot. This is a clean and quiet roadside motel with a refrigerator and microwave in your room. None of the drama you might anticipate at a motel at this price point. Expect car sounds and the occasional noise from a neighbor's plumbing or people walking by, but overall this is a great value. If you're not fussy you'll be pleasantly surprised.
My daughter and I decided to go to Hershey a day before we went. After finding Escape Inn on Tripadvisor and reading the reviews, we called the motel to make a reservation, but they advised us to book online, as the prices were significantly less. It was my first experience with booking online, but it worked. Escape Inn is in a great location! We got there late at night and were only using this place to sleep. It was fine! The room was spacious, clean, and contemporary. The beds were comfortable enough, although I didn't sleep well, but that didn't have to do with the bed. The pillows are very puffy (contributed to my poor sleep, but some people like full pillows). There is an elevator through the lobby, but the lobby closes at 11:30 PM--unless it's just the desk that closes at this time, but I think that it was also the lobby. The hallways are outside; there are not indoor hallways. The night front desk clerk was nice enough. And the day time desk clerk was also nice. The room did, at least at first, smell faintly of nicotine, but it was late, it was cold outside, and I didn't want to first have to switch rooms. Besides, the lobby/front desk would be closing very soon. I would stay here again, though.…
We have stayed here many, many times and we always have an enjoyable time! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Perfect location for visits to Hersheypark, the AACA museum and other attractions. Friendly staff is always ready to help and make you feel welcome! Will return!
Front desk was nice and friendly, let me check in very late. Easy check out. Room was very clean. Outside was loud but that is what you get when you have an outdoor facing room. I would stay here again.
Super clean hotel. Friendly guest services. Great location to local attractions. Easy in and out. Highly competitive rates when compared to other locations in the area. Stay for 2 nights and will certainly stay here again when back in the area next year.
Don't let the outside fool you. Our room was fully renovated and very clean. The best things about this hotel are it's proximity to the hospital, the price, the fresh decor, and the cleanliness. The only knocks I had against my stay were the smallish bath towels and the very firm mattress. I would definitely stay here again with the family if we need to stay near the hospital or Hershey Park.
It does not look like much on the outside, but the room was really very nice! Would have enjoyed a coffee pot since no breakfast, and when staying in winter, the floor on the first floor is definitely cold. I would stay here again.
Nice renovated very clean room. Simple but everything you need. What I liked the most no carpet on the floor. Comfortable beds and pillows Strongly recommend it. Next to 2 good restaurants. The room was very warm on the cold night we rented
