Check in to this hotel is supposed to be 3pm. We weren't allowed in our room until 440pm. This is completely unacceptable. What a failure by management. If I ever return to Hershey, PA, I will not be staying here. Tru, if you read this please spare me the BS apologies and excuses like blaming covid and Donald Trump. You're close enough to Hershey park that people will stay pay top dollar to stay here.
Wow. We were really blown away by this new hotel in Hershey. First, the location is AWESOME! In a quiet neighborhood yet somehow still only five minutes from Hersheypark, five minutes from amazing restaurants, and one minute to shopping and gas. Second, the staff were all so nice and friendly and accommodating. Third, the room is great. Exactly what you need and no giant furniture you don't need with a super comfy bed. Wifi was really fast. Breakfast had a lot of options. The little market in the hotel had tons of hershey snacks which were delicious. Oh, and the lobby is super fun with games and colorful hangout space. We will be back!
We got into Hershey late, but when we entered, we were promptly greeted by Andrew. He got us a room quickly, with a smile, made sure we got our discount (AAA) & recommendations for a couple different local restaurants that would deliver to our room. Our room was one of the cleanest we’ve seen & was very quiet. Check out was just as quick & easy (I’m sorry, I didn’t get the name of the girl working the desk at checkout). Would definitely recommend this hotel & we will stay here next time we’re in town!
We stayed here for two nights during my kids April vacation. The decor was modern. It was clear they had managed to work some of the decor into budget methods (Walk in shower, vinyl floors, soap dispensers instead of trial size, coffee in the lobby instead of the rooms) but it didn't take away from it at all, in fact I think i preferred the shower to many hotels. My kids spent a lot of time in the pool which we were lucky to be close to. The breakfast was great and allowed us to save a meal out every day. Coffee was available in the lobby all the time (great for my husband) and better than in room coffee makers since those never seem to make decent coffee. The soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion dispensers in the bathroom were also preferable as we didn't have to worry about whether there was enough for four of us in a tiny little bottle. There was a washing machine/dryer available which I didn't plan to use but thanks to a mishap I did end up needing it on our second night there which helped us extend our clothing a little longer as we were heading somewhere that didn't have one. The gym was also useful for my teen boys.…
We had a good one night stay at this hotel. The deco is modern, and the room was large and clean (like the rest of the hotel). Staff was friendly and breakfast was nice, good for kids. Very good choice for this area.
Recently stayed at the Hershey Hilton Tru and the staff, hotel, complimentary breakfast had the highest possible standards. When we checked in, we found that I had made our reservation at the wrong Hilton Tru, Grantville rather than Hershey, PA. We stay in the Hershey Tru for various medical visits at the great Hershey Medical Center. Somehow I booked the wrong Tru this past trip. The General Manager, Heidi Weaver, and Corey, the desk clerk, jumped on my boneheaded mistake and within 15 minutes all was cleared up and we were in our room. The rest of the stay was our typical Hershey Tru experience, incredibly clean rooms, very comfortable beds, terrific complimentary breakfasts with excellent coffee, and polite and helpful staff literally everywhere. This why my only hotel card is a Hilton AmEx and I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member.…
Hotel lived up to what you see online. Modern hotel, rooms are on the smaller side but absolutely perfect for a quick stay. We went for a skating competition and it was perfect. Everything was clean, and the lobby was great to hang out in. Staff were supper nice and friendly.
First time staying at a Tru by Hilton. Check-in was fast and easy. The young man at the front desk was very nice and efficient. The room was really small. I was kind of disappointed at how small the room was. There was no sitting area. The room could have been a little cleaner. There was something on the door handle and the back of the door should have been wiped off (as it looked like something was splashed up on it). There was dirt on the floor in the room when we walked in. The breakfast was ok. I liked the pancake machine. This was ok for one night but not for more than that.
Excellent care. Felt very safe the bed was awesome. Just need more gluten free options. Front desk was very friendly, kind. Getting a text from Corey was a delightful surprise. Asking if everything was ok.
We have been visiting Hershey at Christmas time nearly every year for the past ten years. We typically stay at the Hershey Lodge, I love the decor there, the coziness of the lobby, the Santa visits. But every time we stay there, the actual experience never lives up to the expectations in my mind. So we go at Christmas, it’s crowded, check in is always a disaster. When Santa visits the lobby, there’s never a place to sit and relax and everything is chaos. They have a lovely bar, but it’s piled multiple people deep and you can’t get the bartenders attention. For the price, the rooms are pretty, but small and not as full of amenities as we like. We love the pool but it’s always a crowded chaotic mess. But, it’s lovely and a tradition and we book every year. But why am I bringing this up in a review of Tru by Hilton? We booked our trip too late this year and the Hershey Lodge and Hotel were booked so we booked this hotel. My expectations were not super high, but they exceeded all expectations. The decor was bright and modern and felt fresh and clean. Check in was a breeze. The staff was so helpful and really went out of their way for the guests. The rooms were clean and bright and well appointed (with refrigerators!). And the lobby was so fun, there are air hockey tables and TVs, lots of couches and fun plentiful seating. There is no bar but they had beer and wine for sale, along with snacks. It was a great vibe to sit in the lobby and relax with a glass of wine at the end of a long day. All the guests were so friendly, our kids made “hotel friends”. Breakfast was great, it got a bit crowded, but that’s expected in the busy Christmas season. Overall a great trip and I did not leave disappointed at all. My expectations were, admittedly, low but they were all exceeded. My only complaints are that I wish they offered shuttle service to the park. But besides that everything was great.…
