The hotel is old, water damaged and under staffed. During the week it's a ghost town, guest and staff included. The rooms are hit or miss, some are better than others. But they all have damage across the board. And lady bugs, dead lady bugs. Don't expect anything for breakfast. Inspect your room carefully. Always say something when things are not right.
If I could give zero stars I would. There’s no one at front desk for check in and if you do happen to summon them management is absolutely rude and downright cruel. Especially the lady who claims to be the manager. Yelling and screaming at guests if you have any discrepancy or concern. Rooms won’t be cleaned during your stay no matter how long you stay. There’s no breakfast. Lots of loud banging and noise throughout the night. Very dated with an uncomfortable vibe. Sink was broken and room wasn’t that clean during check in. $180 cleaning fee upon check out??? Even when there is no damage to room. Don’t waste your time or money at this location.
Upon entering the hotel which no one was around front desk. Smelled musty, oldish decor in lobby. Our room was on first level, first room in left. Musty smell inside, very large room. Orion board had stains all over it, scratched up mirror. 2 ac units which looked like one was just replacing Ed since there was plaster around it. One of the windows where shattered with plastic covering it. Coffee was horrible..non dairy piercer creamer?? Really??? Just a weird vibe there.
This super 8 was not exactly super. The lobby smelled weird. Our room was definitely lacking in basic updates- the blankets and curtains were stained, the shower curtain had several holes in the see through plastic part at the top, the carpet was not great and so we opted to wear shoes. The room above ours had a guest who walked around thumping until 3 am- not the fault of the hotel but there was definitely nothing in the way of soundproofing. If I stay at a less expensive hotel in the future I will ask for a room on the top floor- live and learn. I did not end up saving much money on this less expensive room since we had to make a target run to get pillows and blankets that we felt were better to sleep on.
I stayed at the Super8 just outside of Harrisburg. The building is newer than the hotel to the right of it but that doesn't mean better service. Both properties are owned by the same people and as a result they have split their staff between the two hotels. The property is mostly ghostly as a result of the split and service is below diminished. There were obvious maintenance issues, dirty windows and a general lack of care. You won't break your back if you are staying just one night, but its probably worth spending a little more or going a little further out for a better room.
