I stayed here for a long weekend (March 2023). I was incredibly pleased with Deerfield Inn! We were warmly welcomed by Linda who gave us a tour of the building and activities. She was very attentive the entire weekend. Our room had a personal bathroom and a comfortable bed. One of our favorite things of the weekend was the breakfasts in the morning. It was thoughtfully prepared and served to us by Janice. Delicious! The kitchen was decorated with beautiful place settings and fresh flowers. There was an abundance of activities available. Sauna, gym, movies, games, books, tv, etc. Since we went in March the pool and hot tub were closed. We enjoyed nearby hiking, horseback riding, skiing, and good dinners. I’d recommend Garlic Steakhouse. The style of Deerfield is quaint/vintage. So fun to cozy up and hangout playing cards. The only complaint would be the Wi-Fi was spotty with us being on the top floor. Overall I had a very enjoyable weekend and will most definitely be going back!! Thank you Deerfield Inn!

Dated, tired facility. It even smelled old. We had to ask for fresh towels. We had to ask for toilet paper. The bathrobes they are so proud of are dingy and grey. The food was sub par. I had one good meal there of salmon but my daughter’s salmon was overcooked and dry. There wasn’t much variety in the menu which would have been okay if the meals were better. Healthy meals do not mean tasteless food. The classes were good but the gym did not seem to have been cleaned. The same for the equipment. Everything could benefit from a deep clean.

sharing my exp to save others - i usually take my mom to the caribbean every yr but due to covid, i opted for a place we could drive and feel safe. i booked the nicest room they had: ultra deluxe room. they don't even give you lotion. it's the equivalent of a holiday inn. this place is right off a busy street so it's far from serene. the actual pool is nice but it has a metal gate around it. it feels like it's stuck in 1953. i tried to book massages for us, but they only had a male masseuse which we did not feel comfortable with. this place is misadvertised. how can they say they're a retreat + spa with this type of exp? it feels more like a weight loss camp for people ages 60 - 80 years old. the food is like prison food. you eat dinner at 5:30 pm. you fill out what you want to eat on a paper with a menu that hasnt changed in 30 years, and a column to count your calories. so antiquated. the only + was the trainers, they were really good/educated about fitness and friendly. and bc the older people did not partake, it was like i was getting personal training. zumba was so much fun bc it was all local people. however, the gyms looked like they hadnt been cleaned in decades. i did not see any covid cleaning measures being taken unless you count having a hand sanitizer out. the owner would yell at her staff + guests. this place should be shut down. it's not ok for what they charge, and they don't seem to care about guests or updating their property to make it warrant the $$$.

I have been to the spa several times, not last year of course but it just re-opened. Its the kind of place thats homey and not for the glamorous, but I liked the food, the classes especially yoga and dancing. The date below is not right I havent been there so recently.

We were very disappointed by what Deerfield Spa had to offer. It is - really - a weight loss facility which is not something the website reveals. When ordering our meals we had to count calories - not something you want to do an a spa vacation hoping for lots of pampering. Usually spas have bowls with fresh fruit sitting around and water readily available. This place is stuck in the 80's and it shows. When we pointed out the menu/calorie issue we were told the menu choice form sheet has not been updated in 20 years. WOW! Talk about guilt infused eating ....this was a disaster. We had planned to stay many days but left after one night. Save your pennies and skip this one!

My sister and I enjoyed a week of healthy meals, pool time, hikes, and even sprinkled in a few exercise classes....all while social distancing. After a few months of quarantining, we were both nervous about venturing out, but Joan and staff did a wonderful job setting up a safe and relaxing environment for guests. We enjoyed our time and felt so comfortable that we quickly booked our next visit. Visitors set their own schedule choosing from a list of daily activities. I was there for a more laidback experience (pool and hikes), but there were guests going on "advanced" hikes and taking full advantage of gym/exercise classes. I've been to a number of health/boot camp destinations and Deerfield's flexibility with meals and activities, as well as the friendliness of ALL the staff, makes it my favorite.

I had such a great experience that I added an extra week. What I love about Deerfield is the simplicity -- which allows nature to be front and center. The meals are healthy, delicious, and perfectly portioned. The rooms are simple -- bed, bureau, side table, television w/cable, and bathroom. My room had a lovely quilt on the bed which added cheer and charm to the room. During this time of social distancing, each person had their own table at meals, everyone wears masks, and exercise classes were outside under a large tent. There is a heated outdoor pool -- fabulous since so many pools are closed during Covid 19. The people who were at Deerfield while I was there were friendly and easy going. The staff, too, was accommodating whenever I asked a question or needed something. Nothing ever seemed like it was too much trouble, which makes for a positive and relaxing stay. I had not hiked for a long time before arriving and was a bit nervous, but the hiking leaders offered encouragement without adding unnecessary pressure on me. This place is exactly what I needed to get rejuvenated and back into condition. I love this place and plan on going back in the future. I forgot to mention that it's a great place for single people because at least half of the people come by themselves. You won't feel out of place if you travel alone.

The laid back vibe at this wellness retreat is as refreshing as the Poconos morning air. To be honest, I wasn't sure on day one that this was the place for me: bed and breakfast-y, a little dated and cottage chic-y. Something of a throwback to another time...well, throw me back there anytime! My goal was to recalibrate after a busy summer of work. Maybe lose a few pounds. Do some hiking. Read some books. Firm up those biceps. Meditate. Swim. Check! What I didn't expect was the camaraderie of the guests-- a widely varied bunch whose sole commonality was 'getting into' the camp-like rhythm of this unique spot. The classes were great (I am still smarting), the food was fine (most people raved but I admit to snobbishness in this area) and the meditation, yoga and hiking were just what I needed to reconnect with my better self. My facial with Yolanda was crazy good. Highfalutin it ain't, but a hell of a lot of fun it is!

At the end of August, I spent seven nights at this wonderful retreat center and spa in the beautiful Poconos Mountains. I needed a place to decompress after being a primary caregiver to my parents for four years. I needed to get reaquainted with exercise and healthy food. This was perfect for me. I needed to work back into exercising and enjoyed taking the variety of exercise classes led by certified exercise instructors.. I also enjoyed the afternoon water aerobic classes in the outside pool. They had interesting talks and delicious food, including 2 healthy snacks per day. The other people there were very friendly and we all got along well. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I loved the Massage by Brittany and the Facial by Yvonne. Quite a number of guests have returned to this spa every year. I plan to return next year !

I stayed over a weekend my first time since I was looking for a health retreat. You can follow the schedule of the day and everything is right there. The exercises were beginner to moderate level and only 30 minutes long. They were great though. A lot of yoga. I felt I needed more cardio, strength training and sweating so you go to the first gym for the treadmill, machines, and weights. The hiking was good but wish it was about 4 hours instead of two. You can go off on your own to see an arboretum or museum. The food was very delicious, homemade, use their own herbs grown in their herb garden and they know how to portion for weight management. However, a weekend isn’t long enough to adjust to the sudden change in your meals you are used to so I felt hungry the first two days but they were delicious meals and I adjusted. I wish the patio was open for dining also. You can use the pool at any time and attend pool yoga exercises. Our instructors were great. The price is what you think it to be according to how much money you are open to spend and can do for a health retreat. They have spa services on site and my massage was magnificent. The people I met were wonderful and charming. A weekend is okay but a full week there is what is best. You will see results in your weight and overall muscle to
