We took a 24 hour quick getaway to the Brandywine Valley to visit Longwood Gardens for the Holiday Light Display. Hamanassett B&B lives up to all high expectations we had based on their comprehensive and helpful web-site and other Trip Advisor Reviews. The care with which Glenn, Ashley, and staff decorated the property for Christmas was inspiring as was all...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We enjoyed your all too brief visit (I've ordered the book by Bryson you recommended) and hope you'll return to visit the many other attractions in the Brandywine Valley. Wishing you the best in 2017. Ashley

The Hamanassett Bed And Breakfast in the Brandywine Valley is an extraordinary place to visit – sited in a 19th century stone house with antique filled rooms. It exhibits all the fine features of the legendary English Manor house. The hosts, Glenn and Ashley, ably assisted by Amanda, always have time to chat and make you feel so very comfortable....

Hamanassett is perfect in every way--beautifully restored and decorated historical home; pastoral, quiet location; friendly and helpful hosts; great variety of interesting and nearby sights. Breakfasts are home cooked and presented with all the "fixings" of a 5 star restaurant. Treats are supplied to feed the neighboring horses, directions to all sights and restaurants are readily available in a file...

Thank you for your lovely remarks about our bed and breakfast. I'm so glad we helped you enjoy your visit to the Brandywine Valley and I especially appreciate your comments about my breakfasts. I really do try hard to make the first meal of the day special for all our guests. Hopefully, you'll return to Pennsylvania and the Brandywine Valley...

It was my pleasure to stay at the Hamanassett Inn, on 2 occasions, and it is with fondest memories that I decided to write a review of the bed & breakfast and its cooking classes. The Inn is a beautiful and interesting place to relax while visiting the Brandywine points of interest. The house has interesting architectural detail and furnishings,...

We called the owner to let them that we were going to be 10 minutes past the check-in time of 7 pm. I was told there would be a note on the door on how to get in and find our room. Not a good sign. All other B & Bs would have the owners greet us. We arrived at...

Actually when this guest called at 6:30 he told me they were just getting ready to have dessert. Thinking I was being considerate, I told him not to worry about rushing, to enjoy his meal because I would leave a note on the front door telling them how to get in and find their bedroom. I don't understand his being...

I was very excited for our recent stay at Hamanassett. After reading the reviews I was especially excited that they offered gluten free options. I read how other customers were accommodated with gluten free pancakes and cookies. I quickly made sure I let the owners know that I had to eat gluten-free as they requested. I was disappointed when I...

Receiving even a 3 star review is very disheartening. Being a good innkeeper requires wearing many hats, one of which is that of a psychologist. We've learned that some guests enjoy a lot of interaction while others prefer to be left alone. We obviously misread these guests and I apologize if we seemed unfriendly. Regarding the gluten free options, the...

We three sisters headed to The Brandywine for a long weekend of art, antiquing and garden touring (very close to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, which we both visited). We had a wonderful room at the top of the house where we all stayed most comfortably and were treated royally by Ashley and Glen. From directions, to suggestions, reservations, wonderful breakfasts...
