We stayed at the Lodge at Chalk Hill to visit the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright houses Kentuck Knob and Falling Waters. The Lodge is a number of cabins on a nice setting near a diner with good food. The room was comfortable if not a bit tired and very basic and the bathroom OK. They include breakfast that is pretty...

We stayed there last month for a few nights, mainly because it was close to Kentuck Knob, Fallingwater and Ohiopyle State Park. We were quite satisfied with our room. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, linens were new. The bathroom did have shampoo and hair dryer and was clean and everything worked fine. The deck overlooking the lake was...

We stayed for 1 night on a trip to Fallingwater. The room was clean, everything worked great. We enjoyed the lake with geese. Breakfast was good but there were no instant oatmeal packages. We had a good sleep and would recommend this place to our friends

not easy to see from the road; but there is a huge sign to alert you to this location...looks like maybe from 1960s or so; sort of low sitting one story rooms; wondered what we were getting ourselves into; but when we unlocked the door; it was spacious, clean; well maintained with a picnic seating out the sliding back door;...

I stayed here 1 night by myself on a trip to see Fort Necessity and Fallingwater. The room was spotless, everything worked great. Obviously updated in the last year or two. Wi-fi was speedy and did not require password. The patio overlooked the large pond (patios are not private; you can see your neighbors' patios). Each room opens to the...

My wife and I often travel Rt. 40 in Pennsylvania traveling between Pittsburgh and Maryland. So we had passed The Lodge at Chalk Hill many times without stopping. But the country setting and large pond in front of the motel intrigued my wife and staying there someday was on her to-do list. This September we took several days to experience...

Our GPS couldn't find the address and we had to stop at a house and ask the way. Very much like an older style New Zealand motel or the roadside motel that you see in movies. Our unit was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and a nice view over the lake. The hosts were very obliging and the...

The room was dirty and smelled bad. The tile floor in the entryway and bathroom were dirty, the carpet was lumpy. The shower in the tiny bathroom functioned poorly and the track of the sliding patio door was filthy as were the windows. A piece of raw, 2x2 wood was in the patio door as an added security measure. There...

We enjoyed our stay at this motel. The room was clean and included a small kitchen, fast Wifi which required no password and a deck overlooking the lake. The provided breakfast was cereal, bagels and toast, OJ, bananas and coffee. Our only complaint was the coffee. Good value for the accommodations and only 8 miles from Ohiopyle. I would definitely...
