My husband and I recently stayed for two nights in the Four Seasons room. As previous reviewers mentioned, there is a bit of both a dust and clutter thing going on at The PI. The bones of the place are lovely, but the inside felt like it reached it's peak in 1989. Other reviewers have couched their phrasing to include... More

We had a lovely time staying with Chip and Cheryl in their rambling, charming, historic bnb. The breakfast was fabulous, the gardens and ponds were gorgeous and Tucker, the household dog, loved a good tummy rub. We'll be back, for sure. Laurie Young and David Lee

We stayed here on our wedding night and I cannot say enough awesome things about this place. We stayed in the Wintertur room and it was stunning. There is a huge window overlooking the garden and I loved sitting on the couch in front of it looking at the beautiful garden and watching all the butterflies, hummingbirds, and various song... Hospitality abounds with a hearty greeting and initial orientation tour from our host and his trusty companion dog Tucker. The 4 acres of gardens with ponds , flowers and relaxation spits with well situated chairs for contemplation of the surroundings makes this a most enjoyable place to stay. Nearby historical Longwood Gardens is unrivaled for a delightful and absorbing visit... More

The owners are wonderful people, property could definitely use some updating. The sleep number bed in the room was old and didn't work. Was either hard as a rock or slept in a soft taco- not comfortable and prevented sleep. Lots of cobwebs on the side of the house outside at the front door on porch when you first walk... More

Golly Gee, I'm not sure where to start. I'm glad that you liked Chip and I, at least. There's an old saying that "you can't please all of the people all of the time" and I guess this proves it. I'm sorry that you didn't ask for help with the bed as it's quirky, but does work. Thank you for... More

Truly enjoyed our stay in so many ways. Ask Cheryl to show you the gardens and enjoy hearing how they were created. Or just spend time wandering. DO wander through all the rooms and the house. 'just love those huge old fireplaces!!!! Although right on a trafficked route we heard no noise. We loved our room, all the detail. Our... More

We certainly hope that you will come back!! I'm so glad that you loved the details that others call clutter or trinkets and am happy that you spent time wandering inside and out. I guess you could tell that my gardens are a real love. More

You're absolutely right about the sign, but the township regulates the size and color, which is why we give very specific directions on our confirmations. Perhaps you forgot to read yours. Chip was delighted that you gave him credit for the cooking as I do most of it in the wee hours of the morning. He has learned to do... More

Great place to stay. Very warm and welcoming. Breakfast is homemade! There is a lot to see in the area and the owners are a wealth of knowledge. Totally amazing experience for our anniversary. If you are into history, this is the place. Longwood gardens is a must. If you like steak then eat at the Brandywine Prime.

This grounds of the this inn are stunning. The innkeepers truly have a green thumb and know how to create a sanctuary for those seeking solitude and peace. The Inn itself is stately but quite cluttered and dusty. This doesn't appeal to us so that was uncomfortable. Our room was also uncomfortable because it was too hot. I believe the... More

Thank you so much for your compliment on the grounds, if you like them in February, you can imagine what they are like in Spring, Summer and Fall. I'm sorry that you felt the inn was dusty, my housekeeper is constantly praised on her skill, so perhaps she forgot to dust your room and I apologize for that. Some people... More
