We visit family in Kennett Square a few times a year and have stayed in all the local hotels. The standard practice is to overpay for a nondescript cheap feeling room and leave resentful. Not so with the Brandywine River Hotel! Our room there had a comfortable four-poster bed, gas fireplace, and a jacuzzi tub with a separate shower. The... More

Hotel is situated in a quiet convenient location from which to venture to Brandywine River valley attractions. The suites are well worth the additional cost to add an extra layer of relaxation after a day exploring. Staff are very accommodating and professional. Look forward to returning for another stay.

We always enjoy our stay at the Brandywine River Hotel. Always quiet and comfortable. A great get away. Staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoy the afternoon tea time to relax before dinner. Also very nice to have some restaurants within walking distance. It has been our get away place for many years.

Just of route 1 south behind the restaurants is a very nice hotel that looks small outside but is big inside. It is more like going into someone’s home. The rooms are not your normal configuration but have all the trimmings and more. It is like your own bedroom with en-suite and an extra comfortable coach. We had a Jacuzzi... More

Nice King suite with gas fireplace and whirlpool tub. Clean and rather comfortable although the mattress was a bit dated and lumpy. The pillows more than made up for that, however! Lovely service with an afternoon tea and cookie service as well as a continental breakfast in the morning. Quiet. but in a great location!

We stayed in room 216 which is a large room with a very large bathroom sporting a soaking tub. However, the sink counters, and the toilet are the lowest I have ever experienced. I am 5 feet and had to bend over so you can imagine a 6 foot husband and what he had to do to reach the sinks... More

It's a pleasant mid-range motel, well situated on the highway, with easy access to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, and Chanticleer Gardens. Comfortable rooms. However the wifi was down for 2 of the 3 days. We did get patchy reception by sitting in the reception area one evening but then that connection died. They kept saying "we have a call into our... Easy to find but if you are coming 1north you need to do a U-turn to get to the hotel. Parking lot is a bit tight. Great location to see Longwood Gardens or the Brandywine River Museum. Nice nearby restaurant and antique shop. Cute exterior and nicely decorated festive registration area. The ladies at the front desk for check in... More

This is a pleasant hotel, and quite convenient to places like Longwood Gardens. Our room was tastefully appointed and comfortable. For us, the spring mattresses were very hard, and one of our beds had a significant dip in it (room 123). Breakfast is more in keeping with what one might expect at a budget hotel. The staff was very friendly... More

Thanks for your review and honest comments about the hotel. We are still in the middle of getting some new things and obviously your room did not have the new fixtures in it. If your in the area again please stay with us again! Lisa Manager More

Lovely small hotel set off the main highway. Staff friendly. Room very clean. Bathroom spacious. Shower clean and adequate ... even a jacuzzi tub. Bed very comfortable. Carpets, drapes and bedding seem brand new. Some of the decor is "dated" but but not shabby ... that is part of the hotel's charm. Even a gas fireplace is room 201. Complimenatary... More
