That's exactly what I was hoping for in the few weeks leading up to this latest adventure. I'm happy to report that The Tradewinds fits that title nicely. Our room had everything we needed to make our own meals and we were only a few blocks from downtown Seaside if we wanted to dine out. Bed was super comfy too, I forgot to ask what kind it was... darn. I'd definitely be down to stay here again should I ever make another trip to Seaside.
We had stayed there many times over the past 15 years and it was always great, when Michael and his spouse ran things! Now the housekeepers run the place. I e-mailed the place as I had always done and , after several days, got no response. I called them and got the raspy voiced gal. I advised I'd like to reserve a room and was abruptly told, "We do all our reservations through Airbnb, or you can go to our website. I asked if she'd gotten my e-mail ? SILENCE. I went to their website and found it difficult to use. I gave up and got another place but still in Seaside. Their website states it's the same folks running the place for the past 60 years. DON'T BELIEVE IT! It's being run by the "chambermaids" with low skill levels and look , to their credit, like they've graduated re-hab. We will write this one off our list. The end of an era.…
My husband and I and our 2 whippets stayed at one of the units at Tradewinds and loved it there. The entire complex was very well maintained and the unit was even more impressive. We had all the amenities we needed for our short 2night stay. The property manager was so helpful and friendly. She took so much pride in ensuring that we had everything that we need. As dog owners, my husband and I realized that it is so difficult to make sure that a place stays spotless and odorless when dogs have been around. We were so impressed with the condition of the unit that we even asked what they used to clean the unit so well and leave it so odorless - you would never know that dogs have been in the room! The complex was nice and quiet at night when we needed our quiet time, but was only a short 10minute walk on the promenade (It's right on the promenade) to get to Broadway and all the cute shops/restaurants/boutiques. We'll definitely be back!…
We just got back from Tradewinds, what a wonderful place we stayed at!! We have been staying here for 30 years!!! WE were WOWED!!! by our room that was clean, updated & felt like home! It was cozy & warm!! With EVERYTHING YOU WOULD NEED FOR YOUR STAY!!!
We came for just an overnight on a day when it was so windy that it was raining sideways. Since we weren't willing to spend a lot of time on the beach in weather like that, it was great to have an ocean view past the dunes, which looked lovely with wind blowing through them. The next day was also windy, but sunny and warm, so we got to enjoy the beach a bit more. My boyfriend and dog also loved it. Our unit was on the ground floor and was simple yet updated and extremely clean. Great bed and view from the bed in 101. The only downsides of the unit were that the bare floors could use a rug and the wifi is really weak. Other than that, the bed was really comfy and it was well equipped and cozy. We will be back!
