I seldom write reviews for anything, but our stay at the CHBH is worth writing about. The occasion was our 30th Wedding Anniversary, so everything had to be perfect. We arrived in the early evening to a warm welcome from the owners, Sherry and Jay (such great people!) who helped us settle into our suite and made sure that we had everything we needed to be comfortable. While booking our reservation, I briefly mentioned to Sherry that my wife and I intended on mountain biking the North Umpqua Trail during our visit and was pleasantly surprised to see that she'd printed out trail maps for us to use and even asked her husband, Jay (an avid rider himself) to give us his candid thoughts on the best segments of the trail to conquer. I realize that this reads like an odd detail to include in an online review, but here's the point I'm trying to make: anyone can rent you a room and charge your credit card for the privilege....but its rare to stay in a B&B that makes you feel so incredibly great about the entire experience! I haven't even described the actual facilities and amenities yet (which were comfortable, very private and beautiful) or described the wonderful little things Sherry did for us during our stay (fresh fruit, warm baked goods, a great bottle of wine, some local beers....and an amazing egg/sausage/spinach/cheese breakfast souffle!). We live too far away to become regulars, but we now have a favorite place to return to....and we'll definitely be back!…
My husband and I stayed here in August for 2 nights while visiting Crater Lake. Our host and hostess could not have been nicer. The grounds are beautiful and deer visit the fields in the evening. Our fridge was so well stocked for breakfast we could hardly eat everything! Fresh eggs, fruit, cheese, homemade scones and muffins, granola. And a bottle of wine. The rooms were extremely clean and well appointed. If you are ever in the area make sure you reserve this B&B.
Beautiful, modern accommodations nestled in the hills of Oregon. Peaceful, quiet and every amenity provided by the inn keepers. Breakfast items to suit your dietary preferences. The only drawback was a small very hard queen size bed and bulky pillows. The room could easily have a king bed since the cottage is so large. Great place to stay on your way to visit Crater Lake which is 2 hours away.
We've traveled around the world over the last 40 years and stayed at many bed and breakfasts, Inns, and resorts. This is by far the best place we've ever stayed at. Sherry is a spectacular hostess. We were treated to fresh picked tomatoes from the garden. Strawberries, blueberries, and terrific local chocolates. We were gifted a fabulous bottle of wine from the local Abacela winery, a blend of Tempranillo and other varietals. There was a local beer on tap available in the barn, too! We played bocce on one of their two courts. Though we had never played before, Sherry kindly explained the rules to us. The bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom were beautiful. The attention to details were very well thought out and made for an extremely comfortable stay.
Really wonderful experience. Suite was spacious and comfortable. House and grounds are fabulous. Complimentary local beer on tap. Bocce and horse shoe courts/pits. Sit and watch the deer cross the yard, and the stars come out. Hot tub. Very well organized. They have been running this B&B for 12 years and it shows. They recently stopped renting out the rooms in their private house and have just the one suite with its own entrance. Breakfast is in the fridge to eat at your leisure at whichever of the myriad tables in different spots outside. We ate on the front porch with views of the sun-baked hills. Three wifi boosters around the property so always great service. Sherry was very friendly, but left us alone for the most part. You could just hang out in the grounds for the day, without even venturing out to see all the fun things there are to do around Roseburg. We had two nights which was not nearly enough.…
