Stayed last night. Very quiet. Comfy bed and well equipped private bath. Amazing breakfast that John makes himself using their own raised eggs. Excellent coffee too. Very short walk to excellent local restaurants. Try True Kitchen.
Wonderfully restored 130+ year old Victorian house within walking distance of the best restaurants in town (True Kitchen and Parrott House). John the owner is very gracious and the two breakfasts he made us were incredible, tasty, fresh fruit, great coffee. A perfect place for our romantic weekend away, or perhaps for some bride and groom for their wedding night :-). Highly recommend this place!
I'm sure this property was beautiful at one time but is currently in need of much TLC. So much clutter that it was hard to feel a since of peace. No area to just sit and relax. No coffee, tea, cookies or other refreshments. Sewing projects covered the dining table along with piles of misc. odds and ends. Lots of tired plastic flowers everywhere. The yard was also full of junk. There were a couple of little chicken running around which was about the best thing it had going for it. The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit compote, waffles, eggs, and bacon and the portions were generous. This experience was unlike any I have ever had. You get the picture.
If you live history, and learning about family heritage, you could not find a better host than John. We loved looking at all the family treasures from teacups to dolls. Good breakfast, nicely appointed room with two beds.
Sweet and authentic Victorian house and rooms, with a very kind host who obviously loves having guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a delicious 3 course breakfast with eggs from the owner's chickens and fruit from his garden.
