What a great little spot! This hotel was everything we were looking for. The rooms were a great size and the staff kept our room in magnificent condition everyday, even going to the extent of keeping our shoes lined up! The staff at the counter, John, Brian and a stunning young lady were just lovely. They had great suggestions of...

Wow! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. Our staff truly enjoys being of service to our guests and sharing their love of Portland. I will pass along your comments to John, Brian and all of our "stunning" ladies at the front desk. I'm always happy when our guests have enjoyed the evening wine tasting. It's a great time...

Christina was fabulous! The staff, especially John and Michael, could not have been more helpful. Suggesting places to eat and side trips, printing maps for us, and being genuinely friendly....... This certainly was noted by four women traveling together from the south. It was wonderful having plenty of room to spread out and the location was perfect for walking. Loved...

I was in Portland for 4 days on a solo adventure and wanted to stay downtown so I didn't have to worry about driving in an unfamiliar city. The Mark Spencer accommodated my budget with their Washington Plaza studio apartments, which was only 2 doors down from their secure parking garage. Nice, simple breakfast each morning. The only con was...

Happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to Portland. The city is very pedestrian friendly with short blocks so walking around is quite easy and enjoyable. I know downtown parking can be expensive, but we do offer one the the least expensive options in town. I truly appreciate getting your feedback and hope to see you again soon. Thank you...

We checked in late at night after a very long train ride, and we were tired and grumpy. The two staff at the desk could not have been more welcoming -- not only the young man who hurried away to find us a plate of cookies, but the young woman next to him who was enthusiastically describing sightseeing options to...

I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious. And the staff was fantastic. Christina, Michael and John are some of the names that come to mind. They were so helpful in giving advice on places to go and see. Went out of their way to make our stay fabulous. Would definitely go back there!

We wanted to be in the heart of Portland, and the Mark Spencer Hotel didn't disappoint! This is an old building with character, and great rooms. The ground floor reception was a very nice, as were the staff at check in. Try to be there for the evening wine and cheese mixer! The elevator is tired and slow, but the...

This time we booked the combination Jimmy Maks nightclub show, meal and room combo. Check in went fine but we had room on the lower floor that was a little noisy with the trolly and rapid transit. I've been staying at the Mark Spencer in Portland for many years. Its almost a home away from home. I wouldn't call it luxurious but it is classy and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I loved this hotel. The staff were so nice, and the room just great. They serve cookies and coffee in the afternoon, and a wine paring with cheese and crackers around 4 pm - lovely.
