I had booked a stay for the beginning of March and was called yesterday to inform me my reservation was cancelled. The property has been sold and the new owners of the building are firing all employees and cancelling all guests. Terribly upsetting.... I was told I should be getting a refund of the 50 percent deposit they took.
Carol, Brian and the owners made this a beautiful celebration. Carol with the flowers, the food and rooms all exceeded my expectations. Beautiful memories were made. I highly recommend this venue for intimate weddings.
Ballet Fantastique was honored to choose Portland's White House as the site for our 1920's jazzy "Fezziwig's Party" scene in our "American Christmas Carol: A Ballet Movie." Carol was extremely gracious and helpful, and the site was breathtaking and truly became one of the most important scenes in the entire movie. Prior to booking, we had only seen photos, and the house was—impossibly—even more gorgeous in person. Every single one of our professional artists left feeling that we can't wait to come back as guests! A stunning, one-of-a-kind, luxe space that oozes art and beauty.
I rented a queen and king bedrooms with private bathrooms that were impeccably clean. Able to open windows to allow fresh air. Seated privately for breakfast when other guests (three) present in separate dining area. Second night of stay we had the whole mansion to ourselves Will use Portland White House next time I travel to Portland.
I found this event space for our upcoming wedding in September and can't praise it enough. My jaw dropped when I walked into the rooms and saw the well-furnished, immaculate space. Every room is so inviting and lovely. Carol, the manager and event planner could not be more gracious or accomodating. We originally thought we just wanted to use the venue for a noon wedding only but Carol shared the "Elopement" package which includes two nights in elegant rooms, Friday night for the bride's family, and Saturday night for us. Breakfast included. Everything we need is being provided and arranged. We will have a small wedding at the house and Zoom it to all of our loved ones. It is definitely much more upscale and elegant than I had initially planned. I am just going to enjoy my day!…
This is a really lovely, enchanting inn. The inside has been spectacularly restored and is just beautiful. My bed was so comfortable I did not want to get out of it ! It's a relaxing walk in the neighborhood, lush with greenery and filled with well cared for homes - some appeared historical. Broadway, a few blocks away, offers many interesting shops and restaurants. I had never been aware of the Irvington District but I completely enjoyed it. Carol and Brian were so wonderful and warmly welcoming; they could not have been nicer. And Brian's breakfast was way beyond expectation in artistry and absolute deliciousness! Of note, the inn is one of the Unique Inns but does not participate in the Rewards Program. Also, your room may be changed from the room you book if you stay one night only, which is included in the inn's information.…
Our daughter’s wedding plans were cancelled due to corona virus but instead of a large wedding she had a perfect small wedding with large zoomed following . The staff at the White House were amazing and able to have flowers, cake, romantic dinner and breakfast to make their day perfect! The venue is spectacular and the photos are beautiful.
Portland's White House is a place a didn't even know we had until we were gifted a night there! The Mansion and Carriage House are both beautiful and newly remodeled. we enjoyed sitting downstairs by the fire and strolling around the house and the neighborhood. The managers, Carol and Brian, were super sweet and a joy to talk to. They both made us feel right at home, and the breakfast they provided was top notch! I completely recommend this place and would love to go back!
We had a great time for the two nights we stayed at the White House. We got a very freshly made breakfast and we had great conversations with the manager, who was full of entertaining stories. Next year we will definitely come back.
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast for 2 days, Feb 1st and 2nd for a wedding. The Whitehouse is elegant and we were well cared for by managers Carol and her husband. Carol detinitely felt like family (we didn't get a chance to talk with her husband). She made the experience of staying there and the help given for the wedding preparations was wonderful. The elegance was something that couldn't be beaten. The table Carol and her kitchen helper set was gorgeous, something out of a 5 star restaurant. The food was very good. I can not say enough good things about our stay. I highly recommend staying at he whit house if you are looking for elegance and pampering.
