Stayed at the Ace in Portland and loved it. We had a large room with a record player and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. i really liked the breakfast room as well. It was walk-up and serve your self but there was staff to help. They had delicious fresh smoked salmon, fixins for waffles, delicious...

Ace Hotel is the iconic accommodation for the Portland travelers. It has unique design and friendly service. I stayed at the cheapest room that I had to share the public shower room, but there was no inconvenience. Shower room was always clean and no-hassle. There is a famous coffee place 'Stumptown' at the first floor. You can discover the downtown...

I was here recently during the big snow/ice storm. I was supposed to be there for work, but it was mostly cancelled. I have stayed at the Ace in New York, and Seattle, and, since I live in LA County, I have been to the DTLA Ace too. This property in a bit higher end than the Seattle one, more...

Very hipster hotel and seems a bit old and rundown for my taste with pretty expensive prices. Beds are not that comfortable either. However, the restaurant in the hotel is very good and Stumptown Coffee is located right inside the hotel. It does have a great location, within walking distance to Portland favourites.

Staying in an Ace Hotel before (Pittsburgh, PA) I decided to try out Portland, OR where the chain is headquartered. First, always speak with Alex. Sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable he's your guy. Though the rest of the staff was helpful, they're a bit more reserved. Having a Stumptown Coffee located within the hotel was a pleasure as I could pop...

I am a huge fan of this hotel, I was reluctant to rate 3 stars, but the bed was absolutely terrible. Aside from that, the room (with private bath) was fabulous. Super quiet-hallway noise & street, warm, full of light and super clean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat... if they upgraded their beds to a legit mattress.

If you are thinking of Ace London or Ace NYC, Portland Ace Hotel will be a huge disappointment. I have been in both and booked Portland Ace expecting the similar vibe and friendly hip. But in my disappointment, Portland Ace Hotel lacks all the charms of Ace and the staff are bland and rather rude. Really, this is not the...

I love Portland - all of it... That said, this place is a bit over-hyped. The Ace is in an awesome location, has one of the city's best bars on the first floor (Clyde Common), has a photo booth in the lobby, and is fun. That said, the staff is rude and aloof, and sort of kills the fun vibe....

I read the previous 20 reviews on TA for perspective before writing this, so I'll attempt to address the main pros and cons mentioned: 1. Its like a youth hostel. - Yes, kind of but only in the best way possible. YH's can be very grotty but The Ace is quite slick. It's utalitarian-chic I guess? I liked it. 2....

Having seen the Ace on Portlandia i was expecting it to be painfully hip and obviously the place is cool but the welcome was friendly and we felt at home rather than on edge.We got upgraded on arrival and so had a large suite with separate lounge including nice extras like biscuits, tea with honey and of course the vinyl...
