Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed at this property for two months (June - July) for work. Although the exterior is need of a facelift my room was comfortable for my needs. I did however get a sinus infection roughly three weeks in and I suspect the air conditioning was the source of the contaminate which required a visit to urgent care. I did look at the vents and they were dirty. And after I was feeling better from the infection it started up again just one week before my departure which made air travel very uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff was phenomenal and made the stay tolerable as I was from home for so long. The front desk staff attended to my reguests in a timely fashion and was very helpful. There is notable security for the neighborhood each evening as there are homeless camps nearby. I can recall hearing gunshots nearby one evening around 12:30 am which woke me up and caused me to hit the deck. Breakfast was just about the same thing every day. More variety is needed. But the attendant for breakfast was super friendly and did his best to stay ahead of the breakfast demand especially on the weekends when the property was full of kids participating in travel team sports events close by. The exterior pool was well kept, towels available, and the pool was kept relatively clean and chemically balanced. My final assessment as compared to other Residence Inn’s - The property management group needs to invest time and capitol in this property and upgrade approach. The staff is working hard to keep customers satisfied.

This hotel has cosmetic updates but was stinky and in need of repair! The room was extremely hot and took 2 hours to reach a cool temperature. It smelled like a litter box and the toilet ran all night. The breakfast buffet was filthy and the plate were wet!

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the University of Portland. I wanted a "suite" type hotel to give us a little more space with a 17 year old. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little run down and needs a face lift. Our room was clean and tidy, however we had a couple of problems, the dishwasher did not work properly and neither did the garbage disposal. Although the hotel was very reasonably priced, we will not stay here again.

Worn hotel that needs some renovation. Staff are super kind and responsive. Breakfast weekdays are prepackaged sausage muffin, yogurt, bagels and the like. An upgraded continental. Weekends are sometimes eggs, bacon and sausage. For 7 days it was boring. The street it was on is packed on both sides with parallel parking. We will not stay here again. But ps, the courtyard across the street looks much nicer. Beds are comfy.

Checked in with no problem. Got to the room and it was 81 degrees and the ac was not working. Contacted the front desk and they said they would have maintence fix it. Left for 3 hours, upon returning the key card would not work on the side or back door, only the front door. Got back to the room it was 80 degrees and the ac not working. Called the front desk and asked for a new room with working ac. Was moved to a new room. Nice bed. Upon checking out found a $10 charge for parking. Must have been for the wed bag and used rubber in the parking lot. Stopped to have breakfast in the lobby. It was a joke, bagel's in a box, cereal and bonanas. Overall disappointed with Marriott. I have had better stays at motel 6 and wasn't charged to park in their parking lot. I'm a Marriott bovoy elete member

No Air conditioner working. Several exterior doors out of commission. Microwave missing parts. Exterior in major disrepair. Did not feel safe so we changed hotels. Sub par Marriott property. Very disappointing to say the least. Not worth it.

Honestly a pretty terrible experience. The front desk staff was less than thrilled to be there. The pictures must be outdated from several years ago too. Had to change rooms because the AC unit wasn’t working in the first one. Lady went to check the unit was in the second one, and it was still about 80° in the one with a “working unit” ended up just switching hotels. Also seems to be in a pretty bad side of town. They made sure to mention “park where the cameras can see the car”

We love the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suites that Residence Inn offers. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Sully (spelling?) who ran the breakfast room. She's very kind and caring. That being said, this hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation. I don't know how long ago the description was updated on TripAdvisor, but "newly renovated" is not accurate, as well as the Free Parking amenity. Several things in our room were in need of repair and it also needed a deep cleaning. The windows are old and not soundproof, and the hotel is in the PDX airport flight path as well as the Air National Guard's new fighter jet. We had noisy upstairs neighbors, as family suites often do, and the old building isn't soundproof. Covid protocols didn't allow us to have our room serviced every day, but they could do a daily trash and towel service if we requested it in advance. This is something that all hotels are skimping on, and I feel bad for the housekeeping staff who are working their butts off trying to do more work with less help. Most hotels are busy again, and I don't know if it's the management companies, the owners, or corporate (or all of the above,) need to pony up and get back to their usual levels of service.

A clean, well kept hotel with friendly staff near the airport. I felt well taken care of in a tidy and well appointed room. The problem was that there was a loud and unmanaged group of teenagers - looks like several girls soccer teams. They essentially took over the pool area and made a significant amount of noise well into the night (10pm). Loud enough to be a distraction on the 4th floor. I realize 10 isn’t that late, but we had traveled all day and had to get up really early for a flight the next day. Sleep was impossible until they finally left the pool. Management didn’t seem to care. It would have impacted all the rooms that faced the pool/patio area. The chaperones didn’t seem interested in making them quiet down and neither did anyone on the hotel staff.

We booked here after arriving at PDX. It was during the record heat wave. We checked in and realized our room was warm and the a/c wouldn't click on so we called the desk. They said they would send someone to check on it. After an hour or so we called again. Same story. Called again and then were told the a/c broke the day beg=fore, was checked out and couldn't be fixed until the next week. Certainly understand things break, especially during record heat. But why let us check into a room where you know the a/c is out during a record heat wave and then basically lie about it? I am a Marriott titanium member and am usually treated well, but not this time. They dis help us move to the Courtyard across the street which had a/c but was a smaller room at a higher price, so our son ended up sleeping on the couch. Overall, my worst experience ver at a Marriott property.
