Based on experiences staying in other hotels I would rate the Paramount above average in this price range. The front desk staff were terrific, welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, ready prior to the listed check-in time and a decent size for our needs....More

Good location, turns out you can park at Smart Park about a block away for much less $. Not sure that I found anything particularly special about this hotel, We stayed here one night, and then the Waterfront Marriot, which was slightly nicer.

The MAX is the deal here. At $2.50 or $1.25 if you are 62+ you can't beat it. Take the RED LINE to downtown and get off at the Galleria/SW 10th ave stop. Walk one block east and two blocks south along Director's Park to the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes but you get an interesting tour of Portland. Drop by The Swine on the way to the front desk and say "HI" to Joe the bartender. If Ed the "Host" is on duty say "HI" shake his hand and he might give you a bag of goodies. Nice folks.
