We take my grandsons to shiners in Portland and decided to stay the night....we unfortunately chose this dump. I got up to use the bathroom and flipped on the light and 3 roaches took off running on. It was by far a unpleasant experience and on top of it they kept our 100 deposit stating we smoked in the room but none of us smoke. They were very rude and I have never had a experience as terrible as this.

Hey Jen, We are sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with your stay at our hotel. Our aim is to deliver a great guest experience, and we sincerely apologize for any failure in delivering on our commitment to provide you with a clean, comfortable, and pleasant place to stay. We take guest feedback very seriously, and we will review all your comments in detail and put them to good use for the betterment of the guest experience. It is disappointing if a guest leaves with less than first-rate experience - this is very unlike us. We know we can do better, and it would be an honor to have a chance to redeem ourselves with you and delight you with the top-notch stay that the vast majority of our guests usually have with us. Best Regards, Customer Care Team

The guy working wasn't wearing a facemask. The other female staff was smoking in the parking lot and it wasn't cigarettes whenever we got there and awkwardly runs in before us and shuts the door on us . They give me a fake number whenever l ask for their complaints number and wouldn't give me their names. I wish i could give no stars and both those employees need to be let go if you ever wanf to make money.

To start all the problems we had a huge issue with checking in. They checked us in as if we were there when we called them on the phone to check about the room and charged us at that time. We hadn't gone to the bank yet so the card was declined and they cancelled our reservation. We didn't know until we got there and had to wait about 5 hours until we could come back. The only reason our check in was decent was because the clerk was very kind to us. But it still cost us $30 to check in early. The room looked as though Wolverine had a panic attack in the middle of the night and just went crazy on the walls. The paint was torn, faded, and even blotted in some places. Above the shower the wall was half painted and half plastered. Not to mention there was a giant hole in the shower wall that someone had glued paper wrapped in plastic so it would be covered. The nightstand was missing the drawer and had a giant hole in it like someone straight punched through it. The phone was missing about 80% of the buttons, but I think that might have been intentional so someone doesn't hit a wrong button but I honestly didn't ask. We got one small bottle of conditioner and one bar of soap for 2 adults and 2 kids, with only 2 towels to share as well. Thankfully we brought our one year olds shampoo. I did like they had the tv bolted down so the baby couldn't knock it off... But it was like someone took a screwdriver and did it by hand. Obviously with COVID-19 their continental breakfast wasn't available (sad because that was a seller on why we chose them). One of the lamps between the beds had no lightbulb. Our blow-dryer was half melted and had a gob of blonde hair stuck in the back of it. The entrance and bathroom lights took a good 30 seconds of flickering before actually coming on. Honestly.... The ice machine didn't work on our floor, only the main level one did. Windows were broken, they're gated entrance gate was all smashed to hell like someone drove into it. And half the siding was freaking off the building. This was such a horrible stay, not to mention the "exactly at 11 a.m. we're gonna be knocking on every door asking if they're checking out or not" service I witnessed. I get it's your job and all, but there's a very big difference between being courteous and being a pushover. The check-in clerk, and the housekeeping lady who let me back in the room after the keys stopped working exactly at 11 a.m. because we left a suitcase in the room. We hadn't even checked out and taken any key back to the front desk. Do not... I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!

Dear Kia, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are very sorry that so many aspects of your stay disappointed you. At the Portland Suites Airport East, we aim to deliver an exceptional guest experience, but it sounds like your time with us did not meet your expectations. Your comment about the room is noted. We take upkeep and cleanliness very seriously, and your room should always feel fresh and clean. Our staff generally does a great job when it comes to maintaining our property and preparing the rooms for upcoming guests, so it is strange that this happened. We have taken your feedback on board, and we will have your comments additionally reviewed by our housekeeping team to ensure our standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times. Furthermore, various safety protocols have been implemented at the hotel due to COVID, because of which we are unable to allow daily continental breakfast, and other facilities, temporarily. We have removed the mention of breakfast wherever possible, but we will check again to see if we have missed it somewhere online. Your comment about the ice machine is also noted and our maintenance team has been alerted to your comments so that they can take immediate action to address the issue that you have highlighted. It is disappointing if a guest leaves with less than first-rate experience - this is very unlike us. We know we can do better, and it would be an honor to have a chance to redeem ourselves with you and restore your faith in our hotel and hospitality. Best Regards, Customer Care Team

I don't even know where to begin! Please don't stay at this dump! Staff is rude, rooms are disgusting and bad neighborhood. We stayed here for a week until we could move into our home. I asked for clean towels, toilet paper, and a garbage bag got an attitude. One of the employees was sleeping behind the counter. Another employee leaves the front desk to go smoke. A woman without a mask is constantly hanging out in the lobby and has not been told by any one of the staff to put it on. But I guess this woman won't wear one if some of the employees' arent. People cleaning the rooms aren't wearing masks. Its no wonder people are getting COVID when people aren't wearing masks in the lobby or to clean the rooms for the next guest. Don't go outside after it gets dark or you could run into trouble with sketchy people walking around. This place should not be operating!! When we reserved the room we thought we would at least get some sort of continental breakfast but nope, nothing. Its understandable as to why the pool and jacuzzi were closed due to COVID but breakfast or at least coffee would be nice.

Horrible experience, especially with Maria. The two front desk ladies were yelling at a customer before me. I was listening and she said that she caught a guest smoking inside the room. Maria used her personal phone to show the photos to the guest. Maria clearly said, “I can’t give you the phone because it’s my personal phone. I’ll show you the photo.” Why was the photos on her personal device? Then I came up, and she said “Don’t give me attitude.” We had an issue with the legal name and ID: WHICH WAS FINE. We will go fix that, because that part was our fault! But Maria kept yelling and saying “I’m going to treat you the way you treat me!” Maria also misgendered my friend TWICE! I told them I want to cancel my reservation because they are extremely rude. Maria and her sidekick told me to look up the policy online. I asked her if she could print it out, they said no go online. Their printer wasn’t working. Their computer wasn’t working. Their brains weren’t working. I had to call reservations.com in order to process my cancellation. The lady on reservations.com told me to request a waiver from them, both Maria and her sidekick kept shaking their heads and saying that it’s not their job to. Then, the lady from reservations.com said to me “Clearly, they aren’t cooperating so we will have our billing team contact them.” They were able to print out ID’s, but they refused to print out their refund policy. Maria and the other woman did not wear masks. The other lady had a mask, but it was hanging from her ear. Maria just DID NOT wear a mask, and she was pushing a cart full of clothes. So, she was clearly working without a mask. Maria was extremely rude. We waited for 2-4 hours just to be treated like absolute garbage. I finally requested a cancellation, and Maria was typing and writing stuff down. She clearly heard me. I waited another 20 minutes for her to tell me, “You have to go on Expedia to cancel!” Even though SHE DID NOT MENTION that earlier. She simply could’ve told me, and I would have left. Maria gave me attitude and did not try to attempt to be kind whatsoever. I was the one who tried to amend things by saying, “let’s start over. I’m having a bad day. Let’s start over.” They did not apologize. They did not attempt to be kind. They were whispering crap about me IN FRONT OF ME. Horrible people that do not respect their customers. I wish I could give this place a ZERO.
