We got to the hotel early was not expecting to check in yet. We asked if we could drop our bags and they took our bags. We returned around 3:30-4:00pm and was able to check in. The employee Marco was not friendly and there was no sense of hospitality from him. I had previously done my research and knew we could get the breakfast vouchers for our stay. I had to ask another employee about it and finally was able to get them. I was not thanked for being a Gold member, none of the criteria of a normal Hilton hotel was completed. Our room was nice so we really liked it. We went down to the pool and it was foggy. We wanted to swim but it looked dirty so we passed. The lounge upstairs was cool and great views. We left Saturday morning for they day and returned around 4:00pm expecting our room to be clean or at least the bed made. Nothing was done, as soon as we laid down housekeeping knocked for service and at that point it was too late. We were tired and didn’t care about service anymore. I love hiltons and will continue to stay. Just won’t recommend this one to family and friends.…
Gorgeous hotel in a quiet and peaceful part of Portland. Within walking distance of riverfront and lots of great restaurants in all directions. Rooms and hallway have great design and uniqueness. Fantastic customer service. Great pool (and meditation area) and cafe. It will be an exceptional hotel when restaurants/bars reopen.
The hotel is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. This was an overnight stay on a Friday night. Room wasn't ready, there was a lobby full of customers waiting for their room. We had our baggage held while we went to dinner. The morning of my stay I sent a message to the hotel asking for towels etc for three to avoid having to call later. Room appeared clean but wasn't stocked, no water etc, so I ended up having to call. Went up to the top floor to the XPort Bar and Lounge. It is beautiful with great views. Waited for about 10 minute for a waiter. We were asked to leave, in the kindest way, because I had my child with me after 8:30pm. The coffee shop adjacent to the lobby wasn't open until they found someone available to work there. I hope that went well for them. Valet was quick in getting my car the morning of checkout. The staff was very friendly and handled the stress well. I feel housekeeping is understaffed, they need more help in order for them to do their jobs. I appreciate the clean room. I would still consider staying there again.…
I was in a parking garage bind and James from the valet went above and beyond to help me out. Really just depending on the kindness of strangers with that sort of thing! Room was so nice and rooftop is a definite scene. Coffee shop next door was a great way to start the morning.
I stayed here a couple of nights in July. I am not satisfied with my stay. First, my room was not ready on time. I was not appreciated as a Hilton Diamond member while checking in. The check in process took lots of time and I had inquire about my benefits. Hotel staff seems incompetent. Rooms are not cleaned properly. I found a lot of dust. See the included picture of the night stand. As a Diamond member I received food and beverage credits. I could not spend them. There is only a coffee shop in the hotel. The service is slow and there are no healthy or appealing options for breakfast. I ended up having breakfast outside of the hotel.
The hotel has a nice lobby and a pretty nice seating area. The hotel room was clean however only one pillow per person seemed ‘basic’. The barn doors to the bathroom had a 2 inch gap on side in which person in bathroom is visible. Another review said no insulation to in terms of bathroom acoustics, this is true. My two teen boys thought it was funny and made for many jokes but I was not amused. We only had 2 sets of towels for the 4 of us and when we asked for another two, they were not delivered until 12 hours later despite asking multiple times. Hotel seemed quiet, we hardly heard anyone in the halls. Location is great, we parked at the garage across the street, much cheaper than parking at hotel itself. Worked for us as we didn’t need in and out service for the car as we waked everywhere. Lots of eateries in the area, felt safe walking.…
Shout out to Adi, a bellman/valet at The Porter, Portland. So efficient, friendly and welcoming. We arrived early and after a VERY LONG DRIVE. His patience, knowledge and smile was a perfect way to begin our Portland stay. Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to have his help upon your arrival!
- We asked the front desk multiple times for additional towels & toiletries (since there was 1 set for 4 people) and never got them despite being assured they would be delivered ASAP. We had to go down again and manually pick them up for ourselves - Bathroom set up was awful with no acoustic or visual insulation - Pool was cold and dirty (not enough chlorine) and there were no towels (despite us asking at the front desk) - Sauna & steam room were closed
The Porter is a beautiful hotel, no doubt about it - but looks can be deceiving. There are practically NO on site amenities aside from a rooftop lounge with insanely overpriced drinks and sub-par service and a broken down swimming area featuring an out of service hot tub and sauna and a murky pool that I didn't even want to put my body in. I can't believe I paid $575 for a weekend there just to be duped and let down. When I reached out to Hilton about my incredibly disappointing stay, they were apathetic and didn't offer any kind of compensation. I will never visit The Porter, or any other Hilton properties ever again.
one of the best hotel in portland. 10/10 for all categories cleanliness professionalism organized and even their valet parking is great! shout out to (grace) cannot explain how great this hotel. deserves it all
