We love the Irvington neighborhood and The Lion and the Rose is as good as it gets! The Inn is outstanding and the neighborhood a joy to walk...the owners, Dusty and Steve, as well as others working at the Inn were as gracious and hospitable as anyone might hope...a real pleasure.

This is definitely the best experience that my girlfriend and I had when traveling. The place is very clean, the staff is friendly and we always felt comfortable and welcome. Every piece of furniture was so comfortable and we always felt like we were heading home when we were going there after being in the city or heading back from...

This place is great. The staff and owners are wonderfull and the rooms and the rest of the house are beautiful. We are in Portland 2 or 3 nights a year and this is our new home away from home. We were given a full tour and as it was not full we also got our choice of rooms. Everything...

This is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. The staff were all extremely friendly, very accommodating, and some of the best I have ever interacted with. The gift boxes are superb, and the breakfast spread is delicious. The Victorian Apartment is a place that I hope to stay again in the future, as it was one...

A lovely room in a restored Victoria close to the convention center. The parlors are welcoming and an invitation to meeting with the many people who stay as well as the friendly staff who are committed to their B+B. Steve and Dusty have developed a wonderful respite from the cares of the world. Enjoy it! There is also a small...

I really liked the historical feel of the Lion and the Rose. The amenities and food was excellent. It is a great part of town with excellent restaurants in walking distance. They even had some high tech amenities like Echo Dot's in the rooms. I will definitely stay again.

The Lion and the Rose is a lovingly restored Victorian mansion in Portland. The owners are friendly, and the house and rooms are beautiful. There is some traffic noise if you listen for it, but it's really not obtrusive. Parking is a bit tight, but we managed to find spots on the same block both times we parked.

We had a lovely stay with Dusty and Steve at the Lion and the Rose. A gorgeous Victorian home in a prime location filled with lovely antiques and very well appointed. Generous snacks and breakfast, thick cosy towels and lovely bed linen. Highly recommended along with the great vegetarian restaurant across the street.
