One of my favorite hotels in Portland. The staff is super friendly and highly accommodating. The hotel is always spotless clean and I’ve never had a problem with any of the amenities not being available.
There's not enough space to explain in detail my experience, so I'll summarize: 1. I called ahead to gather info and prepare for my stay. I asked specifically about the parking and the operator said there was no underground parking - not true, but I only found out after my card got stuck in an icy spot up top. 2. There was no fridge or microwave in my room. There was one place to sit, a desk and hard office chair, and the bed, which is where I ate all my meals. 3. The bedding was scratchy and heavily scented of chemicals. Not comfy as suggested on the ad in the elevator. 4. The window pane seals were broken and surely contributed to a slightly louder experience. The first night I didn't get much sleep. I tried to ask about the acoustics in other rooms, and the clerk just dismissed and patronized me "yeah we're downtown so..." I checked the acoustics myself from the driveway where my car first got stuck, and the building shape and orientation cut the noise from the high traffic on the bridge onramp. 5. The TP was single ply, low quality, and the fancy delta showerhead was barely a trickle. Thick caulking strips all over. And there was hair in the shower from the previous guest. All in all, I expressed frustration several times, and no one seemed to really care. The nicest clerk was there when I arrived and when I left, said he would check on me, seemed to care but in the end, the hospitality just wasn't there. I would have had a cleaner room and better service at Holiday Inn Express or Motel 6 for half the price. What a racket. Even though I've lived in Portland all my life I never stayed downtown - I was tryin to take the Staycation mindset, but if this is what to expect, I probably won't try this again.…
Great location and service. Beds really comfy as usual. Precautions were taken seriously. My main complaint is the water pressure. It was absolutely awful. Like taking a watering can in the shower. Not ideal and don't know how that can be fixed.
Staff was amazing, room was clean, hotel is mostly dog friendly. Would like a small grassy area just outside the lobby for midnight potty stops instead of having to cross the street near homeless camp
We lost power during the recent storm and were calling around looking for refuge. I was hooked immediately when I heard the jingle on the phone line. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
