The people that run the motel are literally the nicest people I have ever met at a hotel or motel. They very helpful any time I asked for extra towels or coffee or hot chocolate for the keurig. They kindly gave me a mask and some spares when I couldn't find one. I really like that the floors are laminate which is cleaner and more sanitary than carpet. The towels are fluffy and soft. There is plenty of body wash and shower gel in a dispenser in the shower. Behind the hotel is a small airstrip. It is fun for the kids to see small planes coming in. It is not noisy at all. The room was very clean upon entry. I would definitely stay again!
Chose this as it was last-minute and this was the only available hotel room in Pacific City. The price was ridiculously high given the general quality, but this was last minute booking in mid-summer on the Oregon coast, so that's to be expected. The location is right in town, so it's close to everything, but it is on a main road/highway, so not very quiet. In general the building and furnishings were fairly run down and shoddy. The bed seemed t to be the nicest part- it was comfortable and it had soft sheets/comforter/blankets. We had a balcony but it overlooked a tiny, depressing airport runway and the backs of some houses (i.e no ocean view). The front desk guy was friendly and recommended some restaurants.
First time visiting. This is a family owned/run motel and Jeff met us for a late check in, he had great local suggestions. When he found out we had just finished a 6 mile hike, he told us where to find the best prices on Gatorade in town! Loved the surprise of the backyard airplane runway with take off/landing and airplane hangers. Beautiful down bedding, comfy beds and a lovely coffee bar. Would stay here a million times over. Thank you!
PLEASE, before you reserve with this hotel, go to "street view" in Google Maps, and check the location! It is right on the highway, and the patio doors open directly onto the town airport--I mean 50 ft. or so. There was not a lot of noise, but light planes started taking off at 8AM. Also, there is no "bar or dining." Our room had been completely updated (consider the structure dates from the 40s or 50s), and came with a Keurig coffee machine, but there is no elevator. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall--for the value, unless you absolutely need to be in Pacific City or Cape Kiwanda for some reason (it is insanely busy during holiday weekends), we urge you to do your overnight elsewhere: we noticed Proposal Inn in Neskowin, a few miles to the south, and in Lincoln City, to the north, there were many more mid-price choices, at "brand name" hotels. Finally, we resented being forced into a 2-night stay, just to meet their economic needs.…
Our plane broke down and we had to stay at this hotel unexpectedly. They were kind, gracious, and flexible when we were uncertain how long we would need to stay. They even refunded us after a late checkout. The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated, and had very comfortable beds. Overall It was just a very pleasant experience. We would stay here regardless of our plane breaking down the next time we are in Pacific City.
