My standard checklist: Clean?: Yes, Very Sleep Comfort: Very Good TV: Good Bathroom: A little dated, but functional and very clean Shower head: Good Bedside Outlets: Not so good. We had to unplug the clock-radio and lamp to make room for my laptop and CPAP. The rooms are quite large and the ocean view is excellent. Our room was on...

Stayed there Aug 2, 2012. Bed comfortable, no ac though, but they have windows that open for a cross breeze. it is plenty cool. Nice fast internet, clean bathroom and large. The first motel I ever stayed that has a separte recycle bin for your bottles/can/paper. Loved it. Great view of the ocean even on the fist floor. Very small...

We stayed at the Whaler from July 27-30. We really enjoyed this motel. All the rooms are oceanview although there is a road that runs between the motel and the beach. The motel has three floors, there is an elevator. The rooms are clean and basic. It was perfect for our needs and the price was right. It has an...

Great location across the road from the beach. Clean, standard motel rooms all with balconies and views of the ocean. Comfortable bed. Low price. No complaints. The Whaler is a short walk from Nye Beach restaurants.

Every room faces the beach. Room was comfortable. Small frig. Sat in jacuzzi for an hour. It was wonderful. Walked down the street to George's for a delicious dinner. Walked the beach before dinner and in the morning . Very relaxing. Balcony was awesome-small but sufficient. Would love to come back and spend more time in Newport. Needed more towels...

We picked this hotel because it had a pool for the kids. It was clean, little dated but hey its the coast! Great views out our patio doors (we had two joined rooms). Price was right for a Sunday night. We were able to walk right down the path below to the beach. July 30th 2012

It is all about the beach! Right across the two lane road from the beach and what a nice beach. Beautiful walk the next morning on the beach. Breakfast was weak and cramped. Room with balcony looking at the ocean was clean and roomy. Did not use the pool. Value in April was great!

We had a very nice room with a beautiful view of the ocean. Our room had a loveseat sofa, small refrigerator, microwave, and a balcony. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The sliding glass doors were the cleanest, clearest glass I have every seen in a motel, which made the view even more spectacular. It's a bit pricey but...

We were staying at the whaler for a family wedding. The staff was knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. The beach houses we stayed in were clean and had a great view. The houses were equipped with what we needed to cook crab, fish, and excellent meals. Downtown Newport was within walking distance. We loved staying here!
