I used to stay here often but the place just keeps going down hill. About 5 years ago I grabbed a wash cloth for a shower and there was some sort of dried yellow stuff on it. The next time I pulled back the covers to go to bed and there was blood all over the comforter. When I called down to have the place cleaned, it ended up having blood all over the mattress and they found splatters of blood on the bathroom walls and sink. I barely got an apology and still had to pay for the room. I didn't go back again. I decided since it has been 5 years to try staying here again because I really like the easy access to the beach. It seems that they changed out some of the furniture from the last time, but it was already worn and had holes in it. The walls looked the exact same as they always had. The bathroom had new fixtures but whomever installed them didn't make sure they were installed correctly and the bathtub was missing caulking. The caulk that was there was moldy and the tub stopper was rusty. We went to open the windows because I love to hear the ocean, but one window had no screen and the other one was half hanging off. Housekeeping knocked on our door and asked if we needed anything which was nice, but my husband asked for more towels and they only gave up bath towels and hand towels. My husband asked for a couple of washcloths and was told we got some holding up a hand towel. My husband had to explain to housekeeping the what the difference between a hand towel and a wash cloth! I will say the people working at the front desk was very nice, but I just didn't feel that the room was clean. I also did not appreciate the 10am check out time! Maybe we will try again in another 5 years.

Thank you for being our guest again. While you appreciated our friendly service, it's unfortunate to hear about the aspects that fell short of your expectations this visit. We'll have our team check the bathroom fixtures for repairs and will speak with housekeeping so improvements can be made as well. Your feedback is helpful so we can deliver a better experience next time.

Chinook Winds is a perplexing prospect. A conundrum. I've not stayed in the hotel, so for the purposes of this review, I'll clarify, this is only a review of the casino itself. And what a problematic mess it is. A casino in my mind, should not look like a suburban shopping mall. Were I the proprietors, I would have this building levelled and turned into a sprawling single floor casino experience with a second floor dedicated to the hotel rooms only. Every floor is confusing and provides a bizarre and a much less than atmospheric setting for a seasoned gambler. There were a few people that asked in confusion...there are more games on the upper floors? Yes...there are. Some slot rooms are tucked into tiny crowded rooms, some are in low roofed rectangular shaped rooms, others feel like you're in a box. Some places in the casino are dark, some are well lit. Some feel like they couldn't achieve social distancing if they were in the Matrix somewhere. You can smell the cologne or chewing gum of the other guests in some areas. Ventilation, open areas and logical layout don't seem to be a consideration in this establishment. It has an undeserved reputation, likely due to the millions of dollars in well placed advertising as well as its proximity to one of the United States' finest coastal areas. Truly an eyesore. The gambling itself wasn't half bad, but what good is it when somebody feels uncomfortable and confused by its layout and poor spatial decisions? To Chinook Winds...do better than this. To customers, you should demand better. What a jigsaw it is.

Dear Jeremy, Our casino is known for many things and while simplicity may not be one of them, we can assure you that our amazing team is. We are always available to help guests navigate our facilities and answer any questions they might have. Nevertheless, we would like to apologize for any discomfort you encountered and would love another chance to deliver a better experience the next time you are in the area.

We stopped in here for gambling and dinner. The casino is beautiful and well laid out, it really is a gorgeous place. the buffet was an early in the week visit so no big fancy buffet item but it was good. With the pandemic they dish everything up but as much as you want. Gaming was fun and won a bit and hung out for bingo. I highly recommend this as a adult stop.

My daughter and I stayed July 7 and 8 and were very disappointed in our room. The room was nothing like the photos, not as clean as it should have been. There was mold around the bathtub/shower as well as in another place. There was a generous gap between the sink and the wall and minimal closet space which was just an open area about two feet by 12 inches. The casino, however, is beautiful and the restaurant where we ate had excellent food and service. If I visit Lincoln City again, I will not stay at Chook Winds resort.
