The ladies working the front desk do not understand hospitality. Didn't have one of our 3 rooms ready at the scheduled check in time. The game room they show on their website, which was a deciding factor in choosing the hotel, does not have the arcade games... huge letdown for the kids. Sauna is closed. Rooms are dirty. When we asked to check in for the 3rd time they said e should have known its been ready for 30 minutes...wtf.. then I asked about the game room and they flat out said that's not on their website. Uhhh ok, so you're calling me a liar? So of course I pulled up the website. They respond by opening a cabinet and saying I can rent a board game. The decks are shared so forget about privacy. The only positive, service wise, was the bellhop. There are much much better places to stay on the coast. I would seriously try and avoid this one if I were you. I'll never stay here again.

My husband and I spent the night on the eve of the hottest weekend on record for the Pacific Northwest. The Inn was fully booked and short staffed like everywhere these days. We were warmly greeted by all the staff we met, even if just passing in the hallway. The restaurant was fully booked as Oregon had not fully opened yet, post Covid. The Inn provided a full room service menu with very reasonable prices. We had dinner and breakfast in our room, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. All the rooms here have a spectacular ocean view with a spacious balcony.

The view at Inn at Spanish Head is difficult to beat. Access to the beach/water is also spectacular. HOWEVER, so MANY things went wrong during my stay! I rarely write reviews because it always seemed like a futile task, but this is information potential guests need to know. First, they called me at home and told me I needed to bring my own credit card for check in because the reservation, made by my husband, using his card would not be allowed (and because my husband wasn’t going to be there, a card in my name was needed). I didn’t have a problem providing a new card until I realized they charged BOTH cards. They forgot to remove the first card from my registration. AND then, they accidentally gave the credit owed to me to another guest, while showing me all of that guest’s personal information (I saw THEIR bill, with MY credit). AND to make matters even worse, the front desk lady was very unprofessional. She argued about it at check out instead of just apologizing for the error. PLEASE check your bill before leaving because they make a lot of mistakes. Second, I was lied to about room availability when I decided to extend my stay two more nights (I had already stayed six nights). Employee told me the hotel was completely sold out and the only room available was their the most expensive suite. When I called the next morning to confirm my new room number, another employee told me they were NOT sold out and found the room I initially wanted, for significantly cheaper. At the time, I had no idea the rooms were individually owed. The shady front desk clerk was trying to force the expensive room on me, thinking I wouldn’t ask someone else if her statement was true. Very unethical! Third, the room walls are paper thin! Loud noises can be heard, all day and all night! When I kindly asked housekeeping to stop slamming the doors, in the room next to me, they made it a point to make as much noise as they possibly could (there were 2-3 housekeepers cleaning the one room next to me, yelling at each other in Spanish as well. Funny, they really shouldn’t have insulted a guest in a language the guest also speaks). Apparently, I did not have the right to ask them to refrain from slamming doors and yelling at each other, at 8:00 am in the morning. Please keep in mind, the doors DO NOT have to be slammed in order to close properly. I made it a point to quietly close my doors (including the sliding glass door to the beach) in an effort not to disturb the other guests around me. Fourth, although the room service employees were friendly, the food itself is less than stellar. I don’t usually have great expectations for room service, at any hotel, but this restaurant’s food was bland, overcooked, and not worth the price tag. Fifth, the room decor, in both rooms I stayed in, were severely outdated. What amenities you receive depends on the room you get. Also, many rooms share balcony space-not great if you want privacy or have a concern about safety. On a positive note, the guest services agent, Greg, was a true gentleman and very helpful. He clearly cares about the guest experience. They also have a lovely house cat named, “Mama.” The Inn at Spanish Head’s reviews on Trip Advisor are VERY misleading! The “Four Star” status includes reviews made 10 years ago! Please read the most recent reviews (2019-2021) to get an accurate assessment of the hotel. They are definitely NOT a four star property. Take this information for what it’s worth. It is honest feedback about my experience.

The room was a handicap room and had comfortable bed, and furniture, and hand rails, and shower bench. THE VIEW was of course, what we were looking forward to. There was a pretty strange conversation as we were "greeted" at the front desk. After checking in I asked for a map of the layout of the building's amenities, as they were all given verbally to me. After a tiring drive, and then not understanding that our car MUST be parked across the highway, I simply wanted a drawing and there was a binder with a diagram. They would not give me a photocopy of this, so I could get oriented. Not a big deal. There was nothing in the room to "educate" us about the building. So I walked around for about 30 minutes in the pleasant surroundings getting oriented to where things were. We had a dinner reservation so that went well, but they informed us we were late. The food was excellent, although rich in buttery sauces. When the check came it was not added properly, and very easy to spot the mistake. Our waiter, who was extremely pleasant throughout the entire meal, could not gracefully accept his mistake, and said he would have to talk to his boss, who would not be there for several days - weird - most times the waiter admits the mistake and efficiently. We were firm about the total, and then he went back and corrected it. I was wondering, why didn't he have the authority to correct the mistake gracefully and just say he was sorry, rather than talking about his boss? It was a beautiful place, not ostentatious or trendy. We noticed quite a bit of TLC happening on the premises during our stay - plantings, salt water fish tank, carpets, pool, etc. We will go back to the same room again because of our need for a handicap room.

We have been here before visiting family. Their room was very impressive so we decided to upgrade when we booked our stay. This room was very dated and not worth the $450 price. Also it was by the pool which is very noisy.
