On 3 recent trips to Wallowa Lake Lodge I have treated friends to dinner and breakfast. Everyone loved their meals. We had glazed pork chops one evening that were fantastic. I had a German pancake for breakfast Wow! Yesterday I had the egg white frittata,...More

Absolutely beautiful! The lodge is beautiful and the area in which it is located is gorgeous. If you don't want to stay in the lodge, they have cabins available and they are very nice! We spent Christmas there one year and rented 3 cabins for...More

What fun. They have restored this historic hotel. And it was a treat not to be in an ordinary square box, ugly print room. They were creative with the room decor. Dont expect TVs in the rooms. It isnt that kind of place. Old school...More
Historic 1923 lodge on shores of Wallowa Lake, clearly needs new ownership and management. Heater didn't work; replaced with a cheap portable. Two lightbulbs out. Toilet failed in middle of night. The management offered not a bit of compensation; hardly apologized. Tired, just tired.
Very pleasant stay, like a step back in time. We stayed in Tamarack cabin with knotty pine walls and even a fireplace with wood. It had turned chilly and it was nice to sit and read with a fire going. Great reading lamps by the...More

Good morning Vallerie,
Thanks for contacting us. We know folks would love to bring Fido and Rover, but we're sticking with recent tradition to maintain the grounds for wildlife. The head of Wallowa Lake is a unique (and sensitive) habitat for all kinds of animals and with so much activity everywhere else at the head of the lake this is important resting, nesting and feeding grounds for everything from bald eagles to mule deer, ouzels to kokanee. Plus, it is sacred ground for Nez Perce. We're working on a conservation easement with the tribe and prioritizing habitat health is a key piece of that.. Maybe someday native sockeye will return to the lake! We hope you understand.
We can recommend a great local, Lodge-approved kennel allowing Fido & Rover a canine vacation with other fun dogs, away from their owners for a short time.
Please do not hestiate to contact me personally if there is anything we can do for you here at the Lodge.

This a unique property, the menu is limited but it may be because they don't have a large area to draw from. They do a good job preparing the food and the wait staff is quite accommodating and friendly. I love the atmosphere and decor. They have tried to preserve the history of the property. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast and dinner at least once if you are in the area.
