Had a wonderful lunch with excellent service at a reasonable price. The garden view during and after lunch was fabulous. Will definitely stop as the Steamboat Inn when next driving along the Umpqua River.

The rooms sit right on the North Umpqua river and the roar of the river lulls you to sleep. The rooms are old and musty but have been updated. They charge more on Saturdays. The beauty of the area is breathtaking and this is right in the middle! Great hiking to waterfalls and fly fishing. They rent gear for $20/day... More

Family of 3 stayed in Hideaway Cottage 12 for two nights. The cottage was very comfortable with two king beds (one in bedroom and one in an upstairs loft) and a nice bathroom. Cottage has a small kitchenette with two burner stove, sink, small refrigerator, pots, pans, and utensils. One could really disconnect as there is no phone, TV, or... More

We spent 4 days at Steamboat Inn in the Falls Suite. The staff is outstanding. The room was rustic but nice. There is a beautiful river view from every window and a nice private deck to relax and just watch the river go by. The room has a small kitchenette with a two burner stove, refrigerator and microwave. We attended... More

Stayed in Cabin # 5 beautifully appointed, the sound of the river was calming and enjoyable. The Garden's are beautiful and very well manicured. The wine maker's dinner was very disappointing and looooooong! Food was mediocre, the prawn and crayfish dish was unappetizing. The short ribs were good but the beans that they coupled with was uncooked. Good desert but... More

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the grounds and your accommodations. I did want to comment on that statement about "don't waste your money and time at the dinners". The situation you were in was a guest chef and winemaker dinner. The food prepared (other than the dessert!) was done by a guest chef, not Steamboat's chef, so... More

We unexpectedly found this restaurant after driving for miles in not the best weather visiting lakes and waterfalls. We went in for coffee and stopped for lunch, delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a varied menu and a dining room with a view of the garden.

This was an interesting place. I think the biggest advantage this place has is that it's the closest relatively nice/acceptable hotel/lodge to Crater Lake. Crater Lake Lodge books up almost over a year in advance so this was the best option next to that. We stayed in one of the "cottages", specifically the Cedar House (see the map I've uploaded).... We have stayed here many times - it is one of our favorite spots in Oregon. The cabins are cozy, on the hillside overlooking the river. For fly fishermen, this is a spot not to be missed. For those looking for a quiet spot in the woods next to a beautiful river, it is perfect. Our meal this trip was... More

The cabin was on the river side, rustic and cozy. However, it had a huge tree in the center of our view of the river. This Inn was noted for its great food and actually has recipe books. The evening special menu, $50 dinner was pathetic. The menu consisted of mushy lima beans, half done carrots, tough beef roast of... More

Brought 27 folks to the Inn as part of a car tour. The riverside cabins are great but splurge for on of the suites! We had an extended happy hour on the deck along the river. They offered a big ice chest with ice to cool our beer and wine. One couple had car trouble and did not make it... More
