We spent 1 evening at the Inn at the Gorge situated in walking distance to the cozy downtown of Hood River and enjoyed the lovely surroundings along the Gorge. The B&B itself is in a very beautiful and quaint house with individually name rooms. We chose The Garden room to have bathroom in the room and it indeed offer two bedrooms - even if the 2nd bedroom were just bunkbeds. 4 people other than sleeping would however not have enough sitting place to enjoy the room. But the B&B offered a great joint living room and nicely appointed garden settings. Since we had to leave early for Mt Hood skiing and could not eat breakfast on the premises the owner offered us a bagged breakfast placed outside our door to bring along, which was a nice touch.

This was my first experience using a B&B in over twenty years. I was impressed with how well the communicate via text, the cleanliness of the room and the great breakfast. I was also pleasantly surprised on how quiet the house was despite having multiple guests. One minor suggestion - see if you could install addition wall outlets so that it is easier to charge cell phone etc. Overall... great place!

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Inn at the Gorge and taking the time to leave a thoughtful review! Glad to hear you enjoyed your breakfast and found the Inn to be peaceful! I just let our housekeeping team know that you loved the cleanliness of the room! Thanks for the helpful feedback regarding charging devices. In some rooms, the placement of electrical outlets makes that tricky, so we provide extension power strips with USB slots. Sometimes they disappear so we'll add checking on those to our housekeeping checklist! Hope you'll consider staying at the Inn at the Gorge the next time you're in Hood River!

My husband and I just needed to get away. We saw the Inn at the Gorge online and thought it soundedgreat. Thr location was perfect. We haven't stayed at a B&B in years and we're pleasantly surprised. We booked The Terrace Room which is located on the back side of the building with a outside entrance. We enjoyed having a private entrance so we weren't disturbing others upon entry. The bed was very comfortable and we liked the wall of windows. Nice newer shower and bathroom. Everything was clean. The breakfast was more than expected and great coffee. Our challenges were needing to carry our food back to our room since it was too cold to sit outside with covid restrictions but hopefully we it will warm up soon. We forgot to turn on our porch light when we left for the day and it was really dark as we maneuvered the steps and gate. Cellphone flashlight to the rescue. Overall a great time and we would definitely recommend and return.

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Inn at the Gorge and taking the time to let us know what you enjoyed and what we need to work on! Thank you for letting us know about the lighting issue. We recently added the privacy fence and gate to create more privacy on the Terrace room's private patio. The new gate and fence block the old lighting source and we neglected to notice. We are addressing this issue now. We just reintroduced our breakfast service that we had put on hold during COVID. It's gratifying to hear you enjoyed breakfast! We're in the process of restaffing and hope to be able to more smoothly meet supplemental breakfast needs - like carrying breakfast - shortly. Also, yes, please come back when it's warm enough to enjoy breakfast on either our back Terrace or wrap-around font porch! Thanks again for choosing to stay and letting us know you enjoyed your breakfast, the updated Terrace bathroom and slept well at the Inn at the Gorge!

We stayed in the Cascade Room, because the description led us to believe that it was the best offering at the Inn. We thought we would have private entrance (we didn't) and an attic (no admittance allowed). We thought there would be a working toilet (sort of). Our expectations were lowered the moment we arrived, and couldn't find how to reach our room. There were no signs, and there was no one to greet us. The Inn operates primarily by text message. You'd be better off thinking of Inn at The Gorge as an AirBnB, without the "Air" part. It's just OK.

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Inn at the Gorge and taking the time to leave a review. Due to COVID we’ve adapted our guest service and, for everyone’s safety, do primarily communicate with guests via text message at this time. Still. we are available to assist with guest’s needs in person, on the phone and by text message - whether guests needs some extra towels for our hot tub, recommendations for dining, or anything else we can help with! We're beginning to offer more in person guests service as doing so is again becoming compatible with the health and safety of our guests, community and associates; we know - text messaging can only do so much! We are proud to offer a full service breakfast that most guests truly enjoy! it sounds like you may not have taken advantage of this offering? We’ve double checked to make sure the toilet is working in the Cascade suite and are happy to report that it’s in excellent condition - thanks for letting us know about your concerns! Oh, and there IS a secret passage to the attic in the Cascade Suite- it can be hard to find and it sounds like you didn’t quite find it! Thanks again for choosing to stay at the Inn at the Gorge and we hope you’ll choose to stay with us during your next visit to Hood River!

The Inn is a short distance for downtown, which is convenient for an evening stroll after a delicious meal (or adult beverage). It also makes for a quiet sleep and soak in the hot tub. The room was well appointed and we are looking forward to a future visit. The doggo is so sweet too!
