We spent 1 evening at the Inn at the Gorge situated in walking distance to the cozy downtown of Hood River and enjoyed the lovely surroundings along the Gorge. The B&B itself is in a very beautiful and quaint house with individually name rooms. We chose The Garden room to have bathroom in the room and it indeed offer two bedrooms - even if the 2nd bedroom were just bunkbeds. 4 people other than sleeping would however not have enough sitting place to enjoy the room. But the B&B offered a great joint living room and nicely appointed garden settings. Since we had to leave early for Mt Hood skiing and could not eat breakfast on the premises the owner offered us a bagged breakfast placed outside our door to bring along, which was a nice touch.
This was my first experience using a B&B in over twenty years. I was impressed with how well the communicate via text, the cleanliness of the room and the great breakfast. I was also pleasantly surprised on how quiet the house was despite having multiple guests. One minor suggestion - see if you could install addition wall outlets so that it is easier to charge cell phone etc. Overall... great place!
My husband and I just needed to get away. We saw the Inn at the Gorge online and thought it soundedgreat. Thr location was perfect. We haven't stayed at a B&B in years and we're pleasantly surprised. We booked The Terrace Room which is located on the back side of the building with a outside entrance. We enjoyed having a private entrance so we weren't disturbing others upon entry. The bed was very comfortable and we liked the wall of windows. Nice newer shower and bathroom. Everything was clean. The breakfast was more than expected and great coffee. Our challenges were needing to carry our food back to our room since it was too cold to sit outside with covid restrictions but hopefully we it will warm up soon. We forgot to turn on our porch light when we left for the day and it was really dark as we maneuvered the steps and gate. Cellphone flashlight to the rescue. Overall a great time and we would definitely recommend and return.…
We stayed in the Cascade Room, because the description led us to believe that it was the best offering at the Inn. We thought we would have private entrance (we didn't) and an attic (no admittance allowed). We thought there would be a working toilet (sort of). Our expectations were lowered the moment we arrived, and couldn't find how to reach our room. There were no signs, and there was no one to greet us. The Inn operates primarily by text message. You'd be better off thinking of Inn at The Gorge as an AirBnB, without the "Air" part. It's just OK.
The Inn is a short distance for downtown, which is convenient for an evening stroll after a delicious meal (or adult beverage). It also makes for a quiet sleep and soak in the hot tub. The room was well appointed and we are looking forward to a future visit. The doggo is so sweet too!
