We stopped in Hood River on our way from Crater Lake to Portland - and were very pleased that we did so. The hotel is well situated, and we managed to park directly outside - the restaurant on the corner opposite the hotel was excellent...More
I have never given 5 stars before but the atmosphere, location, staff, and value compelled me to do so here. The hotel has a comfortable feel and charm. Staff were like old friends. Some have complained of the noise but to me it added to...More
Cool historic feel. Parking feels like a nightmare for such a small town, but not sure you can blame that on the hotel.

We were there on a Sunday night and didn't need to pay for parking at night. However, we paid the $3 for a permit to put in our window to cover the next morning after 8 am. You can't park on the main street but it was easy finding a place on the street up from the hotel--a very short walk. We loved the restaurant in the hotel and that's where we had dinner. The owner was really nice and it made for an easy place to go after a long day of driving. We later walked up and down the street and there were other nice looking and packed restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel was perfect.
