This resort was fine but the main reason we chose to book here was because of the promise to ski for free during the week. Alas, the resort was not prepared to honor that promise for any of the three days we stayed there. There were various excuses for why the deal was not honored but we would have rented one of the many houses in the area but for that promise. The condo in which we stayed was fine but it would be nice for the resort to work more assiduously on salting or de-icing the front doorsteps.

Hello Kevin, The start date for Ski Free mid-week tickets is not determined by Collins Lake Resort. For this reason, we do not make promises on a start date, nor do we advertise a specific date that these tickets will become available to our guests. Our website states that there are restrictions for all free and discounted ticket types, and advises guests to call us to inquire about the status of these tickets and restrictions, prior to booking their reservation. For us to issue Ski Free mid-week tickets, both ski resorts have certain operational benchmarks that must be met. These restrictions are set by the ski resorts. Once the ski resorts meet the requirements that are set for both sides of the reciprocal program, they print the vouchers. Then they contact us to let us know we can come pick up the vouchers, and they give us the go ahead to begin issuing Ski Free tickets for both ski resorts. Ski Free tickets are not available on the same day that guests checked in, but can be issued the following mid-week day, as long as the Ski Free program has officially launched for the season. This year, the Ski Free program launched on the evening of 1/3/18, and Collins Lake Resort began issuing Ski Free tickets the same evening. Upon departure, you voiced your frustration regarding the Ski Free tickets. We offered you Ski Free tickets at that time, and you declined due to the snow conditions at both resorts on that day. In attempts to make you happy, we made an exception and sent you vouchers to use at another point in time. I am sorry that our attempts to satisfy you failed. If you choose to stay with us again, I recommend that you call in advance to inquire about the restrictions the ski resorts set for all Ski Free and discounted lift tickets. Warm regards, Collins Lake Resort Management

I recently had a wonderful stay at the Collins Lake Resort with a few friends this winter. The place we stayed was large and still had a wonderfully cozy cabin-like feel. Our place had a large master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom, as well as two more bedrooms and a second bathroom. The place also included a spacious kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a BBQ on the deck. There's also free Wi-Fi and a large TV that we used to watch both cable and movies. The Collins Lake Resort is also in an ideal location. It is just a short drive to Skibowl where we enjoyed great skiing as well as an awesome experience at night with their cosmic tubing. It is also just a short walk across the street to Government Camp. We had an amazing stay, and I strongly recommend Collins

Our stay at the lodge was absolutely amazing. The rooms were meticulously clean and well furnished, with fireplaces in the living room as well as the master. The room had a great cabin feel while at the same time felt extremely nice and luxurious. The bed was comfier than the one in my own home. Government camp was only a short walk so we had easy access to the general store as well as local attractions. The wifi was great(and free), with a TV which led to great movie nights with our friends. The bbq was clean and easy to use which was convenient for burgers for our large group. Skibowl itself is such a fun experience, cosmic tubing is something I had never done before and it was great to have something to do after other attractions close down for the night. The lights and

I have been bringing my grand kids here for several years .This thanksgiving was particularly dismal because of rain and no snow. We left two days early. The manager refused refund or trying to give me any credit for a later visit. Like I said, Ive been staying here for years. These condos are ok but lots of stairs , Sometimes better then mediocre dishes, and lots of highway noise at night. This year my condo had no pot holders,On thanksgiving!! The office said that that was the owners responsibility. She did have two dirty ones she gave to me though. LOL. I think I lost about $ 500.00 if they were better i would have stayed. Im glad im home. T121

Dear Patsy R., Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. Guests comments are much appreciated, and will be passed along to the owner of the chalet, as well as discussed amongst our onsite staff. Comments regarding individual homes amenities are of high importance, and we appreciate guests making our staff aware of suggestions that can be recommended to the owner of the home. Guests are always welcomed and encouraged to request specific floor plans, amenities, building locations, and views when speaking with one of our vacation specialists. We recommend reaching out to our staff for specific rental inquiries because the homes in our lodging program are all individually owned, thus vary quite a bit regarding the individual homes amenities, sleeping arrangements and décor. Our reservation system shows that you have stayed in this same chalet the last three times you have stayed at our resort. If you choose to visit us again, and would like to try a different home, you can call and speak with one of our Vacation Specialists. We would be happy to help you find a home that would best suit you family’s needs. Be sure to ask one of our Vacation Specialists about the Grand Lodge condos if you are interested in a single level floor plan during your next visit. Lastly, I am sorry to hear that the weather had a negative impact on your family’s ability to enjoy their stay in Government Camp. Based on the heavy snowfall we received in Government Camp earlier in the week, Mt. Hood Meadows and Mt. Hood Skibowl’s Tube Hill were prepared for an early season opening. Unfortunately, the sudden change in the weather did not allow that to happen. Fortunately, Timberline was able to open some of their lifts, and is offering skiing, snowboarding, lessons and rentals for the holiday weekend! Thank you again for the feedback; guest comments play an influential role in assisting us to provide a wonderful and memorable experience for our visitors. Sincerely, Collins Lake Resort Management Team

We were fortunate to find this place available for us during the Solar Eclipse on August 21. It was perfect for us the grandparents, our son with his family and another son with his daughter. With the condo being able to house all 8 of us meant for a very special time together. We were only about 1 hours from totality at Madras. What an awesome, unforgettable experience. The only downside was being located next to the highway and the constant traffic all night long. Thanks so much to Collins Lake Resort for allowing us the use of your condo.
