Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is rustic. It is old. But it is clean, pet friendly, right on the beach and has a fireplace with a big room and comfortable bed including plenty of seating and a table. This was our third time staying at Ireland’s and we will be back again. One of these times we will have to use the hot tubs.

Celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and I was so embarrassed when we showed up here. I’ve been coming here since 2006. These cabins (we stayed in #7) are really run down. They are NOT cozy!! The bed is horribly old, the fireplace smokes you out, there is no couch to sit on, you have chairs that are like in a doctor’s office and the carpet has dog pee spots all over it. The coffee pot is doll size…AND it was freezing in here when we arrived!! I saw the pictures on the website for the cottages (which I’ve never stayed in) and they are not what you get. Maybe those pictures were taken back 2006?? The owners have not put any money into this property. They look like shacks. Come on now, get it together and remodel your cottages. It might be cheaper to stay here but there is a reason why they are so cheap. Increase the prices and update your cottages. Until that happens we won’t be coming back here.

It used to be nice. Made a ressie online for Ireland's and got placed in the Gold Beach Inn next door - not what I wanted. Room was mediocre. Unfortunately tho, we had a guest next door who thought nothing of indecent exposure and some very lud crude behavior. After reporting as much to the mgr, we found she was in the room on the other side of us the next night. You don't feel particularly safe when there are John's coming and going. Won't safe there again.

I've stayed several times at IRELAND'S RUSTIC LODGES in Gold Beach several times since 2001. If you like an iconic time warp place to stay on the beautiful Oregon Coast, this is a must. The hotel has several buildings, from ocean view multi-story units, to less expensive choices further back, there are also 8 cottages, obviously the original. Plus a couple of larger beach cottages. All in a very tranquil setting, with lovely lawn areas, gardens, etc. The cottages (really cabins more than cottages), are old, most with knotty pine paneling, and have fireplaces. They're very old and certainly not fancy, but take the guest back to a simpler time. There are no phones in the rooms; some of them are showing their age, but that's all part of the experience. It's really a way to enjoy what the Oregon Coast was really like "back in the day". Traveling with a beloved pet? They'll love it. A 5 minute walk from your room gets you right on 8 mile beach. See my separate review on Gold Beach for more helpful info on your visit there.

Stayed in cabin #4 for 1 night; was supposed to stay 2 but was so disgusted by the room, we left early. Carpet was so stained we were afraid to put anything on the floor. The curtains on one window were ripped and the blinds on the other didn’t even reach the bottom of the window. Although the sheets were clean, they were also ripped.

Our stay was very enjoyable, room was comfortable and clean. Beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony. Only drawback was no screen door on the slider & no table in the balcony, but we were able to improvise! Other rooms had the screen door & table.

Our room was very clean and had a nice view of the ocean. It did smell musty when we first entered and the doorknob outside was very weathered, but the bedding was nice and crisp and clean, the gas fireplace was very nice, and I love the rustic ambiance, even though the room was slightly updated with paint covering some of the rustic wood features . The trail out back leads right to the ocean, so the access is great. The outside hot tubs were not in working order, but in May there's still a lot of rain, so maybe they'll open in the summer? Overall, we had a great stay.

We stayed in a cabin. We were very hungry so we went to dinner first after checking in. Otherwise I would’ve called and insisted a new room. There were pet stains all over the carpet, the place was inundated with flies, and there was human feces smeared on the bottom of the toilet seat. The only reason I stayed, Is I was very tired and the bed was clean. I will never stay here again.

A hole in the screen door big enough for a raccoon to crawl through, the screen door fell from the track when opened. I scratched my leg on blackberry vines growing into the parking lot, overgrown unmaintained landscaping, the dead bolt on the door was not functioning, mold on the bathroom ceiling, no wifi, rusty table lamp, trash in parking lot, loose rotted board in sidewalk. NO VIEW as advertised and promised because bushes hadn't been trimmed in ???? We had planned on staying three nights, the young lady at the front desk was extremely nice, and said she would pass on our message to the manager. We had reservations for three night and spent one, when we asked for a refund she said she would handle it.
