A tricky one to review. The location and view from the hotel was incredible and nicely located near Depoe Bay. I felt that it was overpriced (but maybe that is the price for accommodations in this locale - I didn't comparison shop). Due to COVID, desk staffed only 9-7, no buffet breakfast, no housekeeping, so difficult to rate service, friendliness of staff, etc. The hotel seems in need of maintenance/repair - peeling exterior paint, fountains adjacent to front door dirty and only partially filled, cracks in walkway to observation desk, jacuzzi tub on patio dated and was not clean. Room was comfortable and mattress very good. Bar area nice but a microwave would have been nice especially with other limited services. Hotel was very quiet although one could hear from traffic noise.

A combined Mothers Day and husband's birthday celebration brought us to the Whale Cove Inn on a beautiful Sunday-Tuesday visit. Given the covid restrictions, we did not have the breakfast option but we did eat dinner at Beck's and it was delicious. The views from the room are lovely...and it was so welcoming to walk into a room filled with music (from the TV). Our host at the check in was super nice. The Inn is taking good safety precautions and we both felt very comfortable. It is a little spendy...but I will add it to my list of favorite places to stay along the Oregon Coast when I want a reason to stay in (the view and the restaurant) and just chill!

The hotel itself is incredible. Well kept, beautiful, peaceful! There seems to never be staff on site. That makes it hard when you need anything. We didn’t get any room service(maybe due to COVID) but at least a check in to see if we needed anything would have been pleasant. Restaurant is good but left still hungry!

The room was very clean, the view was spectacular. The outdoor tub filled with super hot water had to wait a minute to get in. We had dinner at Restaurant Beck, the meal was fantastic. We had an amazing stay!! Staff was helpful and very friendly. It was a birthday gift for the hubby, he was very pleased. Great trip!!!

The location nestled in the Whale Cove was beautiful, and our room had a great view and was very spacious. However, the sink in the wet bar started regurgitating some disgusting material before we had even used it. Also, the bed pillows were very uncomfortable, though I know that is a personal preference. The biggest flaw, in my opinion, is the heating/cooling system in the rooms. The system was not explained to us during check-in, even though we stated we were first time visitors. Apparently the thermostats in the room do not show the "set" temperature. However, we could not get our room to cool down at all, no matter how many times we pushed the "down" arrow. We were sweltering overnight, and finally had to resort to sleeping with the sliding glass door wide open. We had a very nice dinner in the restaurant. Otherwise, due to Covid, there were very few amenities and lacking customer service. When we spoke to the gentleman at the front desk regarding our concerns during checkout he seemed unconcerned. For the money I wouldn't recommend this place at this time.
