Terrible experience. Room was about 90 degrees with flies buzzing around upon check in. Floor was grimy until we mopped it with a towel. They didn't do housekeeping despite daily housekeeping listen in the amenities when I booked. Even when I requested it, the most they did was toss some clean towels on the bed. No removal of garbage, making of the bed, or replenishment of coffee and soap. Room was a decent size, but lacked any amenities. No table, no chair, no desk, no dish racks. Their website doesn't show up on Google, so the only way I found to book was through a third party website and then once I checked in, they refuse to allow an early checkout to escape this horrible lodging experience. Really can't recommend against this place enough. I've stayed at a few different hotels in Corvallis and this was far and away the worst experience.

The email confirming our 3 night reservation stated that we could cancel 24 hours out. However, when my husband came down ill and I called to cancel the day before, they refused! I did not get a single dime back on an $800 charge. I would not be writing this review if they had at least given me a partial refund, but they were completely unapologetic, unhelpful and rude; they have taken $800 from me and given me absolutely nothing in return (isn't that theft?). This is sad because we visit Corvallis often, and I am warning everyone NOT to book at Hotel Corvallis.

Was totally and pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We had a 2nd floor room, and it was very quiet. It's been refurbished, redesigned and has the retro minimalist/industrial strength vibe with good quality upgrades. GREAT bed, great sleep, quiet and MOST of all, clean as can be. How refreshing. We will go again.

I was treated well, but I stayed here 4 months and great rates. Never had room cleaned once bought have my amenities. Maids are nice. Owner seems nice but the staff does not keep records right they told me and have a receipt showing to be there until the 8 of August checkout. On 8-2 went in he told me wasnt due till the 8 th of August and I told him he was wrong then he went through papers said I now owed them for already stayed time. They dont keep paperwork right then I was told that was my fault for paying on a different day each week when i could of stayed tell the 8th and not told them but that's wrong like they say no good deed God unpunished. They said all your fault not ours there is a young man and his buddy that's the mgr protecting. Just be cautious this is wrong. They were god on price but not service. Young man needs to learn customer support and treatment.

Response from John K, Owner at Hotel Corvallis
Responded 9 Aug 2020
Mr. Mark McRae, I hope that God does bless you and keep you well. Given that you are a pastor, I would think if anything that you would find grace to those that do not know Him, but I believe you may have let your personal character handle your disagreements and made someone else fall a little further away from Him. May I challenge you to use wisdom when you are dealing with individuals that did not know Him, since your interactions came short of anything left full of love or grace. As you know from our conversations, you made me aware of your challenging transition during Covid and I wanted to help you out, so I am saddened that you do not tell the entire truth to the story and that you try to hurt a business that may be struggling by providing such a low rating based on your feelings and not fact. The truth hurts sometimes and that is what made you frustrated, but we still tried to work with you to try to resolve the matter. Even though the truth be told, I would not go online to the church where you lead and do the same, since I know we are all human and make mistakes. I hope you understand how your actions may cause division and your anger leads to causing further tension in this world. I do hope grace protects you and you can see how much more harm this review does for both of us and not just the business. Sincerely, John

We spent two nights at the University in first and second of August. We were amazed at the high quality of the recently remodeled two queen bed room! This was a top-to-bottom remodel, with new beds, new bathroom, new refrigerator and microwave, new 35 inch flat screen TV, new lighting and flooring. Excellent downtown location only two or three blocks to the university as well. Free parking and Wi-Fi, and all for only $65 a night, wow! We stayed in room 153; make sure you ask for a remodeled room, as I am not certain the quality of the old rooms! Friendly staff too. Highly recommended!
