$293 for one night, no complimentary breakfast, not even a complimentary bottle of water waiting for me in my room. I feel like I was paying for 2019’s lack of business instead of paying for the one night I needed a room.
Our stay at this hotel was very pleasing. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is great for anyone visiting the university. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. As a diamond hilton honors member I am suppose to get a free breakfast but at this location they were only offering a credit to your breakfast which was not enough to cover the full cost of a basic breakfast. Despite this I would stay here again.
My wife love to stay in the hotel because near to university. She visit to meet her son studying at OSU. Easy checking in, friendly and helpfull staff and front desk Good breakfast. Clean room. Free parking.
Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout my 9-day stay. Bartender Will was fantastic. Great experience and stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I will stay here for all trips in the area to come!
There may be no actual garden but this fine hotel has a lovely, semi-rural setting just across the street from the OSU football stadium and is especially convenient for those visiting the campus. Our king room was spacious and well-appointed (even if the huge lamp over the easy chair resembled a 1950s' hair dryer). Bathroom was very spacious, too, with a powerful shower. There are two reasons why is a four-star review instead of a five-star. We arrived at 4 p.m. on a Saturday, soon after check-in time, and were given what had to be the worst room in the entire hotel (#242). Unfortunately, we had already unpacked before we opened the blinds and saw that our "view" was a barren expanse of rooftop. If that weren't disappointing enough, it turned out that a huge fan and various motorized paraphernalia on the rooftop were so loud through the evening and overnight that we didn't dare open the window (despite lovely summer weather). Even running the air conditioner only partially drowned out the buzz of rooftop noice. The cooked-to-order breakfast provided another disappointment. What was touted as an excellent breakfast sandwich with aioli turned out to be as dry as sandpaper since it had no aioli whatsoever ("the chef ran out briefly," I was told when I complained). I had that bad sandwich removed from my bill because of Hilton's much-promoted "we'll make things right" guarantee. I also had the room rate reduced by $25 when I checked out because of the bad room. But both of these unfortunate experiences could have been avoided altogether if the Hilton Garden Inn staff had been as top-notch as the facility itself. Room 242 should be one of the last rooms ever rented to a guest in this hotel, to my mind, not one handed out during early Saturday afternoon check-in's. Word to the Wiser: Always check out the view from your hotel window prior to unpacking.…
