No reservations. Park service recommended this place. Not too bad for the location in the middle of nowhere. Fairly clean. The owner is a doll. I would agree with Mavis. See his review. Owner says she in going to renovate. Good value.

If you want to have lodging as close as possible to Crater Lake so that you can get up in the morning and get there as early as possible, your options are extremely limited, and none of them is going to rate more than one star, if that much. We read the other reviews of the Whispering Pines and decided...

I never thought I'd be giving 5 stars for a cheap motel but Sheila and her crew made my experience here such a positive one, that I feel that I owe them at least that much. Did you ever see the film "Bagdad Cafe"? About a diner/motel in the middle of no where, run by a group of colorful characters,...

This is definitely not a fancy hotel but a motel on the way to Crater lake but for the money you pay (around $50 bucks) you get a decent room, clean, very close to Crater lake, had some playground for my little children which they love! and a very nice manager. So yes, the rooms needs to be updated and...

This is an old school byway motel. If you want a Hyatt or a Hilton, then you are out of luck because this is not that and you wont find that kind of hotel in this area. Between Klamath Falls and La Pine, this is the standard and just about all the options in the area are on par with...

Well this is an old motel...it shows. It is 15 mins away from park entrance, but the room is just so so. Beds were old but actually quite comfortable. Shower was not the greatest. The curtain needs replaced. Loved having the fridge and microwave. No AC but they do provide a fan. It was a bit noisy. Cooled down at...

The location of this place is great! It is not far at all from the north entrance to Crater Lake. And the owner is very nice and friendly. However, that is about all it has going for it. The store in the lobby is overcrowded and a little creepy. The rooms are a bit run down and could use a...

The smell of the room was unbearable as soon as you open the door. No air conditioning, a fan was sitting nest to the television that did not work. I have COPD and have to use a Concentrator for breathing. The room was in no condition for the elderly with a disability. Or anyone else as far as that goes....

I chose this hotel based on its proximity to Crater Lake; it was just about 30 minutes (or 15miles) away from the North Entrance. The motel is located right at the junction of 97 and 138. If you're along 97, make the turn to 138 and the motel will be to your left. If you're coming from 138, it's on...

Old and desperately in need of update, but cheap. This old fashioned motel is clean and run by friendly staff. Warning sign on reception that 'NO REFUNDS GIVEN' sets the standard. BUT it is troubled severely by insects. The staff do warn you about the ferocious mossies and provide citronella night lights to help you fight back. We were also...
