My husband and I stayed here for our fourth anniversary and it was so lovely. The room was clean and pretty with a really nice bathroom with jetted tub.The owners are very kind and hospitable. I wish we had gotten to stay longer!

This was not my first B&B experience and will not be my last. The R.R. Thompson House is a beautiful old house conveniently located near many wineries. The town of Carlton is small and seemed to be nice, however on the dates we were in town, many of the restaurants were closed. The hosts were ok, Mike was much more...

Thank you for posting your review with tips on how to improve guests’ experience. We’re glad you liked the historic nature of the home and found the location very convenient for wine tasting. Yes, we do have a friendly outdoor cat; she is not permitted in the common areas or guest rooms. We will again stress to guests that she...

We booked the garden room for October 5-7. The 7th being my 40th birthday. A few days before our arrival we received an email offering us the lilac room with an ensuite. When we arrived the owner took one look at my husband and realized he would not fit in the lilac shower with its slanted short ceiling. Then we...

Thank you for choosing the RRT House for your stay in the north Willamette Valley. We want to apologize for the confusion on room selection/choice. When the height of a guest appears to be an issue for 3rd floor rooms with their slanted ceilings, we like to suggest one of the suites. But as you stated, the Rose Suite was...

We booked the R.R.Thompson house because of the location for our first visit to Carlton. It was our first stay in a B&B and this stay really exceeded our expectations. Roselyn and Mike were so helpful and gracious upon our arrival. The Lilac room was beautiful to look at and so quiet and comfortable for sleeping. We spent 2 nights...

We're delighted you enjoyed the Lilac Room and all aspects of your stay with us. Also that you found the community of Carlton lives up to its motto: "A Great Little Town!"

Stayed 2-nights in the heart of Oregon Wine country. Very close to town and great dining. Hosts were so friendly, and have a great sense of humor. Morning breakfast was simple, but delicious. Stayed in the impeccable Rose Suite, spacious and very well appointed! Would highly recommend this B & B to anyone.

Your recommendation of the R. R. Thompson House is greatly appreciated. We’re glad you enjoyed the spacious Rose Suite, which was the original master bedroom of the home. Carlton is indeed ideally located for exploring wine country. And guests at the inn can walk to all the tasting rooms in town, offering wine from over two dozen producers.

A colleague and I stayed at this hotel last year. We were apprehensive about this hotel as it does not have a TV in the rooms and it was a little distance away from McMinnville where we needed to meet with a client. We were in for a great surprise. It is a very well maintained hotel and the owners...

We visited this property last evening for our 30th wedding anniversary. We found it on the internet last week. The owners were more than responsive during the reservation process, allowing us to arrive late, giving great recommendations for eating, and providing a warm welcome upon arrival. Many times, the photos of a room are done so that the room seems...

Built in the early1930s by a shipping baron and renovated as a B&B in 2007, the RR Thompson House is a delightful place to anchor your visit to the Yamhill County wine area - which is growing rapidly! The photos posted do justice to the old world charm of the interior - a little busy for some tastes, but fitting...

This proved a nice break from staying in the hotels. A quaint home, clean and friendly. It's an easy walk to downtown Carlton and further wine tasting if you needed any more! Breakfast was an interesting change and we really liked the effort the hosts made. Would recommend to anyone who is not dependent on the TV!

We really enjoyed staying at the Thompson house! The bedroom and dining room were clean, comfortalbe, and charming. An extensive, and well-prepared breakfast awaited us in the morning, with a chance to chat with our host--an interesting man conversant with a variety of subjects. The location is great--quiet, but within walking distance of all Carlton has to offer.

Thank Donna E
