Had a great view of Haystack Rock and loved sleeping to the sound of the ocean. Little far to walk to town but bikes were provided to ease that. Loved the little kitchenette we had. Boyfriend joked that it felt like our first apartment.
The resort offers spectacular beachfront views. Easy access to beach. I especially liked there are amenities for guests to clean their shoes and feet after a leisurely walk along the beach. Great seating areas on resort to take in the beauty of the Haystack, ocean, and sunsets.
Room was clean and comfortable. King room is furnished very nicely with a gas fireplace which helped to warm us. We had a small screened in porch with direct view of the beach and a Haystack..fantastic!
By definition, not a resort. Exterior could use some cleaning and/or updating. They have 2 different pools to keep hotel guests and suite guests seperate for whatever reason. The room is standard hotel size with nice flooring in entry and bathroom but the bathroom itself is outdated and tiny & the rest of the room is carpet (I wish the whole room had the new flooring). Photos are a little misleading. That said, there are a lot of positives for this property. The room had an ocean view, 2 chairs and a small table on the patio. Small table with 2 chairs offers seating in the room plus a desk with rolling chair. The desk area could double as a vanity with a mirror over it and it has built-in drawers that could serve as a dresser. Bed is super comfy!!! Not sure it was Queen though (felt like a double) Lots of nice touches like free coffee in the room (pods and a keurig), bag of popcorn (theres a microwave), theres a fridge to store drinks/food. The desk offers cookies 4pm-6pm, theres a station for free water/coffee/tea/hot chocolate/apple cider as well in the giftshop/store area. Along with some basic snacks, drinks, alcholic beverages, toys for sale. Theres also a smores kit for sale, firewood for sale, a fire starter kit for sale. Grab chairs from the bottom of the staircase and have a fire on the beach at sunset! Direct beach access offered via stairs. Be prepared for A LOT of stairs. Its very conveniently located. Pelican brewing is basically across the street with the sleeping monk coffee shop a few buildings down and the liquor store plus a market/corner store…. And more. You can see it all from the sidewalk in front of the Hallmark. The room alone is may not worth the price depending what you value, but they are selling an experience and that was worth it.…
We have found a very restful, quiet and friendly to guests. We had an ocean view balcony room that presented us with stunning views and relaxing sounds of the waves crashing ashore on the beach. This was our 2nd trip but will NOT be our last!
We loved our stay and that it was right at/by the Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach. The room was great and the staff was excellent. It was our first trip to Cannon Beach and we look forward to staying here on our next visit.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time at The Hallmark Resort. They even provided a very nice Anniversary greeting and a bottle of very good champaign. The room was spotless and everything was in very good condition. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend the Hallmark Resort for a wonderful, restful getaway.
This hotel does not disappoint!! Room and view were awesome!! Staff was friendly and so very nice upon checking in and departing. Liked walking to the Farmer's Market, the brewery and other close establishments.
It was a wonderful time. We have been coming here for years. We were celebrating our Fifty years of marriage. We remembered all the great years at Haystack. Our children grew up having many wonderful years on the beach. Our Fifty was canceled during COVID. We finally made it. Thank you for everything.
The Hallmark has the best property for view but they oversell themselves as a resort. It is at best a hotel with a pool and jacuzzi (small at that). The $500.00 a night view room we had (labor day weekend) seemed overpriced for the 1980's room size and decor. I would look down the stretch of the beach a bit where there are more upscale lodgings within the same price range before rebooking at the Hallmark.
