We paid for a room that said ocean view but got parking lot view next to ocean so be careful what you book. It was Ok, no access to food near but Mos which was not great. Very nice tidepools at low tide. Room was spacious and nice to walk around in
We had a great stay at the Tolovana Inn. The location is right on the beach, and you can purchase a s'mores pack at the lobby for $35 which includes a bundle of wood, matches, graham crackers, hersheys, marshmallows, frisbee...everything you need to enjoy a fire right on the beach as you watch the sunset! The beach has a great view of haystack rock (note that it will take at least 15 minutes to walk down to it and I highly recommend doing this at low tide...so much cool stuff to see!). This is more of a budget hotel, and the rooms/bathrooms are a bit small, but that was to be expected given the price point is lower than many other places. This is also located in the south part of town so it's a bit of a walk (either on the beach or on the road) to get to the restaurants. We didn't mind the beach walk at all though. The hotel also has free parking which is nice...and rabbits hanging out on the property which was awesome! There is also an indoor pool and hot tub (which feels great if you choose to get into the very cold Pacific Ocean!).…
We stayed here for our first family trip since COVID. We had a 3rd floor room that had a view of the ocean and Haystack Rock. Room was nice and clean, kitchen worked great for the meals we made, and the pool area was well kept allowing it to be enjoyed by all! The hotel is conveniently located near an access point to the beach so not far to go walk. Lastly, we also enjoyed seeing all the bunnies that have made a home for themselves on the property; my oldest daughter gave all of them names!
Overall a nice resort that we have stayed at before. We splurged on a $400 + night oceanfront room. The room didn't have air conditioning and as the day was hot we opened the balcony door. Directly below us on the sand was a fire pit whose smoke blew directly into our room, all night. Receptionist said the beach is public and they have no control over the pits. So why do they sell firewood in the gift store and on the survey afterwards ask how we enjoyed the fire pits? We will not go back.
We booked two ocean front suites directly with the hotel. When we got there to check in, they booked us in “ocean view” rooms that overlook the parking lot. Rooms were supposed to have pullout sofas but did not so we did not have enough beds. When we complained they said: we can give you a refund and you can go stay somewhere else. Yikes. We were a party of ten who traveled across the country with my 80 year old mother and four kids. Not exactly the hospitality we were looking for. Go stay somewhere else!
My husband and I stayed at Tolovana Inn for a night while driving down the Oregon Coast. We arrived late in the day, after a full day of hiking and a late dinner. We had a quick check-in but, because we arrived so late, parking was a bit of a pain. We had to park in one of only 2 remaining parking spots across the front of the lot and drag all of our bags across to a back building where our room was. The room was clean and comfortable enough for us to get a decent night's sleep. The bathroom was small but adequate for just the two of us. We paid $131.50 for the night, which was reasonable for a weeknight in such a popular area. It was very close to Haystack Rock so the location is convenient if you're looking to visit. We would consider staying here again next time we're in the are but we would try for an earlier check in!…
This hotel on the beach was convenient and the parking fills up fast, however we didn't book until a month out and were stuck with a smaller room facing away from the cool beach breezes with only one window. It did cool off after midnight with a fan in the room. No breakfast or fridge or microwave in the room, but the coffee every morning was nice. There is a slow elevator to the third floor, since the stairwell was under construction, but we never saw anyone working on it the three nights we stayed. Mo's seafood eats were next door and Fresh Foods grocery across the street. Loved walking on the beach every day and seeing the family fires along the beach in the evening were cozy. I would only recommend this hotel if booking several months in advance as hotels along the coast do not have air conditioning and usually don't need it. Get a room facing the beach, but book very early as people book up to a year in advance. The staff was nice and helpful and they took 10% off our bill as they couldn't find us another room that was cooler. …
This was our first and last time staying here. For ~$500 a night, we did not get a room that matched what we booked directly on the phone with the hotel. The room smelled so badly when we arrived and was filthy. We have dogs, so we understand stray fur- but all of the furniture was covered in fur and sand. The inside of the refrigerator contained clumps of human hair and dog fur- same with the bathtub. The fireplace did not work and we didn’t have a DVD player as advertised. We didn’t have an oceanfront suite as booked, and only had an uncomfortable Murphy bed.- also not what we booked. There are many great places to stay in CB- this is not one of them and I’m so sad we wasted a night of vacation here.
We visited the Tolovana Inn for a spur of the moment getaway. Our room (126) was a suite with full kitchen and living room with big dining table. We were a stone’s throw from the beach. The steps to the beach were a few feet away and we loved the convenience. Mo’s is about a one minute walk and we ordered takeout often. (Very fast service. Order and pay online.) Our room was updated and clean, comfortable and the views were amazing. Our German Shepard was very happy there too.
We are short on funds and stayed in the cheapest room. No view, no fridge or microwave, however the room was spotless, generous in size, and for the price, it was terrific value. The location is ideal--away from the crowds in town and right on the beach.
