I loved this place. The ambience is that of a family run place full of love. The meals are to die for, and the location second to none. Have the lobster. Stay in bed until noon. Drink in the peaceful surroundings.

We have just returned from a week's road trip through Oregon. Our final two days were spent at the Salmon River Inn, and I wouldn't want it any other way! Tracey Mathey, the innkeeper, is a warm, thoughtful host who makes you feel like family. After arriving there with much needed directions over the phone, she gave me a big hug. Now, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would prefer no physical contact with their host, but I still say "you've got to stay here". The Inn was recently built and is decorated with an eclectic array of art that will keep your interest for hours. The grounds are impeccably done and strewn with glass art, birdhouses, and large wooden scultpures. You can make a bonfire or take a seat in their outdoor jacuzzi, or just sit on the deck and listen to the river race by. It is SO relaxing! Tracey will make you an unbelievable breakfast (3 courses of the most delectable flavors) if you ask her, and she is a wealth of knowledge as far as recommendations for eating and hiking in the area. You must use her as a resource if you stay here! She got it right every time! One more thing, and it's not a small one: the rooms are fantastic! I am still trying to figure out how to get our bed at home as comfortable as the one we slept on at the Salmon River Inn. She has spared no expense in linens, furniture, TV/DVD, etc.In addition, there is a common area in which you can find everything from water and wine, to popcorn and Tracy's fresh-baked brownies. It was so much fun, you have got to stay here!
