We decided to take a weekend trip to Columbus. There was 5 of us & after doing some research we decided book two rooms at Aloft. It was a new hotel and we trust the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, we had a few problems. I had called prior to our arrival & asked if we could be on the same floor. Upon check-in we found out we were on separate floors. The front desk clerk said he would move my friend & his family. We were going to be across the hall from each other. When they walked into their room- the beds were not made. He called the front desk & said that because of Covid the maids must not have completed the room (why did you assign it). They had to go to the front desk & get a new room. We inquired about breakfast. Was told that anything in a certain corner was complimentary. When my mom went down to get the oatmeal- she was charged. My friend got a Frappuccino and it was expired. The final issue came after we were home two days. My friend got a statement stating he was charged $40 for cleaning. When he inquired- they said there was a stain on the sheets & a hand towel. He is currently disputing the charges. Definitely have some issues to work out. In the future we will stick with the higher quality Marriotts.…
We stayed here for a night back in August while visiting the Columbus area. Overall, our stay was very good! First, I have to say this hotel is very COVID friendly. All of the staff members I encountered were wearing a mask, including all of the guests that were staying at this hotel!! I was pleasantly surprised and really happy about this. When we checked in, the man at the front desk was super friendly. He gave us 2 rooms close to each other on the 4th floor. One room was a king, the other was a 2 queen. Since we brought our dog along with us, they were really sweet to her. They offered her a treat upon check-in. The best part about it is there was no pet fee! Both rooms we were assigned were super well maintained and clean. The beds also were nice and soft. If you like a soft bed, this place will be paradise to you!! Overall, I slept very well. The only minor issue I had with the hotel still smelled new. I know this isn’t an issue for most people, but for people with allergies, it can be a struggle at times. Thankfully, I didn’t react even with my autoimmune. Keep in mind though, that this hotel still smells new. Finally, there is also a citrus scent in the lobby. When you first walk in, it does hit you in the face, but it is not at all overpowering. If you are chemically sensitive, it is important for you to know this. Overall, I would stay here again, and I do recommend this hotel!! I am now in love with the Aloft brand. …
I traveled from another city with my toddler and booked this hotel because I could tell it was newer and their pool was open (which is all my daughter wanted to do). After checking in and getting settled, I overheard the woman at the front desk tell a customer that the pool was closed due to a child popping in the pool. Understandably so, they had to drain it. Bummer-but out of their control though, I get it. The woman at the front desk said that she could not guarantee it but stated it was very likely that the pool would be open in the morning. Well the morning comes, I talk to a gentleman who had no idea what I was referring to in regards to the pool. But assured me that the pool was open and I could come down for my hour allotted time. Well, I was getting us ready and I receive a call back stating there was a misunderstanding on his part and the pool wouldn’t be open until 3pm (and of course our check out time was noon). I couldn’t care less but my daughter was let down so I informed the gentleman that this was the only reason we picked the hotel and we could had gone elsewhere had we just known an issue came up with their pool. But instead there was no signs put up or direct communication. The situation I get was out of their control, but lack of communication on their end. I asked for a simple food voucher, 10% discount, anything just for some good customer service to show they actually cared. Nope, nothing. I was told a manager would call me back on Monday. They never did so I called on Wednesday. Again, the manager was not rude, but didn’t even attempt to try and offer me anything. So due to that alone, I’ll never stay there again. Not to mention the room had not been throughly cleaned (pet hair on chair) and I had to call around 11pm for a noise complaint. The positive-the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is located close to many restaurants. But..so are other hotels. …
This hotel was super clean, the staff were friendly, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We have never stayed at an Aloft hotel before but love the vibe in the lobby with the bar, the pool table, the fireplace, and TVs. We definitely will be using this hotel again the next time we are in the Columbus Westerville area! The other services in the hotel look amazing and we look forward to using them when we return after the restrictions of the coronavirus have been lifted. You won’t be disappointed!
I never stayed at an Aloft hotel before and I just love the decor. It didn’t feel like some stuffy and boring hotel, the decor was very chic. This hotel is also pet friendly! The staff was very friendly and our room was nice. The beds are very soft!
