Never having been to a KOA before in our lives, we didn’t know what to expect. Didn’t even know this place existed, popped up in a google search. And so glad it did. This place was awesome! Who knew?? Felt that we could socially distance (there is a pandemic going on, you know) and although we brought our own food, we could have easily saved the hassle and had food brought right to the cabin. Very private patio to relax on, and the fire ring was just perfect. A/C worked great. Never even turned on the TV. The general store has everything one could need - try the handmade, fresh lemonade! Did not use the pool but did visit the petting zoo area. For $5 dollars (for one hour) we hopped on a paddle boat and did a bit of fishing, but didn’t catch anything. Very pet and kid friendly. Make sure your pups are in a leash. Per a recommendation in their “newspaper” we found and visited the 1800’s covered bridge - but sadly it was literally covered in graffiti... a real shame. There are cabins, RV sites, tent areas and new this year, 2 tree houses. Rent a golf cart, or bring your bikes. Check in and check out was hassle free. We arrived about 1/2 hour before the designated check in time and the cabin was ready for us.

Although this is a KOA now, the family who runs it, is what makes the difference. The oldest daughter Haley who is the Operations Manager is fantastic. Tyson her husband is also very nice, very quiet, always polite, and very busy. A very noteworthy experience.I texted Haley with a question, not knowing she was not on property, off for the day, and very sick. Haley still responded to me, and relayed my message. People are not that dedicated these days to customer service. That kind of dedication, sets her well apart from the norm. Chip and Bambi the owners are always responsive to your needs. They always have treated my family as part of their own family in a way. Their staff this year was excellent, as it always is, and they always treat my children very well. That is the most important thing for me, as that is why we do this. Last but not least, a well maintained, and extremely clean facility.Their also always trying to add a new piece of excitement. Their pizza very impressive. I would take it over Donatos any day. They have perfected it through the years. This has become our home away from home over the years. My family and I are very excited to return next year to start our 7th season!! The Ciotti Family

We were seasonal resident campers here right on the lake for many years. I cannot say enough about the wonderful owners and their goal to make your time there memorable. They have so many things to do with themed weekends, trails, hay rides, etc. Give them a try.

Great KOA with clean facilities, friendly staff, great fishing pond. We stayed here while visiting the columbus zoo and the only negative I can say is the sites near the pond/pool are a little tight, however the other areas in the campground do have more room to the sites. They are expanding the campground and I really like the sites in the far right corner they are creating. The wooded sites are very wooded!! A little too much woods for my liking however they were large and appeared level. Nice trees throughout the park so our site did have shade. Some animals on site for the kids to pet! Would return here to explore the town of Sunbury - looked like a very nice area, we just didn't have time to explore

What I appreciated most were the little shelters on the sites, right next to the pond. We had a small tent that was not up to the very BIG rains that we encountered on this trip. We were also there very early in the season, so the renovations that were being done were not finished, and we didn't have any restrooms near our site. The owners actually gave us a golf cart to make certain that we could get to the restrooms when we needed them in the middle of the night. Well, the shelter really saved us. It had three walls of wood, with a curtain covering the open side. The shelter had two pairs of bunk beds with typically thin mattresses, a shelf, a porch that jutted out the front with a small rustic table and a couple of chairs. It got us up out of the mud and kept us dry all night, something we appreciated greatly since we were going to be driving about nine hours the next day. Altogether delightful.
