Upon arriving at the hotel we were promptly checked in. Everything was fine until we arrived to our room 396. Heading up to our room the hotel was extremely hot. Before entering our room we looked up and saw spiders and cowebs all over the lights and corners as if nobody had cleaned in a long time. As we proceeded...

I read many of the reviews for Islander Inn and was surprised by the negative comments. It is definitely not a top hotel, however it was not a disappointment. When I arrived, the staff was friendly and prompt. I checked in much earlier than the normal time allowed and the staff made offers for getting me into a room before...

Put in Bay is an awesome time this place was overpriced and very dirty rooms. Pool bars weak but next door has awesome pool and party atmosphere stay there if you can. The staff was slow. Bugs crawling on the floors instead of $380 per night the rooms should be $50 tops. Would pay $1000 a night at a better...

Just got back from a bachelorette party in Put In Bay and we stayed at the Islander Inn. Let me start by saying, the hotel is nothing special, very basic, and yes, very dated. But the atmosphere is really fun!! If you are in Put In Bay to drink and party, this is a great place to stay!! Multiple pools...

Terrible is kind. I paid over $900 for a three day stay. I opened the door to the room and it stunk. The cheap carpet was wet and the room smelled of mold. I asked them to do something and they said no more rooms and did nothing to clean it. Room has no safe, housekeeping was not good. There...

It was terrible to say the lease. I kept exspecting bugs to come out of hiding at any time. There was mold in the bathroom and the showerhead was a mess. We got into the hottub which was another accident waiting to happen, No lights by the pool or hot tub. We had no room service while we were there....

For $179.00 a night we got: room dirty, found dirty socks laying in the corner, gum and beer caps on floor, night stand filthy, clock radio had wires hanging out and unplugged, bathroom falling apart, carpet damp - (wear shoes don't know what was on floor,) pool dirty with lots of bugs, hot tub was warm, no lights at night...

The front desk staff was very friendly but that is the positive part of this review. The ice machine on the floor had mold growing in the bottom of the drainage area. The air conditioning vents had not be cleaned in years. The blow dryer also had a thick layer of lint. Our ice bucket was never emptied. I definitely...

Almost all other reviews say the staff was terrible. That was not my experience at all. The front desk and security and everyone else was awesome to us. We had an amazing time. The rooms seemed to be newer than the last time we stayed, still not a 5 star hotel but if you spend much time in your room...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Islander Inn is Put-in-Bay's first and largest Caribbean style resort. We have 115 rooms surrounding 4 swimming pools including a large heated pool, conversation pool with a waterfall, 30 person jacuzzi as well as our swim-up-bar pool. The Islander Inn also features the island's original swim-up bar, The Dizzy Lizard. The Dizzy has 9 seats in the water and and seats on land. This is the bar that changed how afternoons were spent on Put in Bay. At the back of our courtyard sits Crash Landings, a bar with an airplane crashed into the top of it. Both of these are open from mid May through mid September, weather permitting. Located between the Islander Inn and our sister hotel, the Grand Islander, sits Put-in-Bay's #1 afternoon hotspot Splash! Splash is the World's Largest Swim-up Bar. We have 97 bar seats in the water and 120 chaise lounge chairs outside of the pool for sunbathing. With live entertainment on the weekends and plenty of other fun during the week, Splash is definitely the place to cool off and have a cold drink with your best friends. Overlooking Splash is The Flaming Skull. The Skull is a full scale pirate ship that sits next to Splash. Guests can walk up on the deck and watch out over the pool while having a drink at the 80 seat bar. Get your picture taken with the captain so your friends will believe you when you say you were on a pirate ship on Put-in-Bay. We are located right in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay and are within walking distance to most of the major attractions. Should you want to explore the island a little more, we do have golf carts available for rent at our Front Desk with some of the lowest rates on the island. You can rent a cart for a couple hours or go all day if you want. ... more   less
