My family and I really enjoyed our visit to the Hallauer House! We stayed in the suite, which has two rooms and three beds- perfect for my wife and me, as well as our teenage kids. Very comfortable. The historic, charming home was cozy. We made use of the swimming pool each afternoon- refreshing on hot Oberlin summer days! Joe... More

We very much enjoyed our visit at Hallauer House. We were in town to attend some shows at the Oberlin Summer Theater and had a small group staying at the house. Breakfast poolside was very nice and swimming and walking the gardens after breakfast made a wonderful end to our trip before heading home.

Peaceful country setting, yet super close to Oberlin, tastefully decorated, with all sorts of interesting antiques and artifacts, very clean, high quality linens, lots of thoughtful extras, beautiful and interesting grounds, delicious and ample breakfast, and two very welcoming and relaxed hosts.... This B&B was the perfect jumping-off point for riding on the bike path in Oberlin. Its setting outside of town in a quiet area was perfect for rest and relaxation. We booked the bicycle package for our two-night stay. After eating a most exquisite and enormous breakfast (included!), we drove our bikes into town, rode for about four hours and... More

The 1830 Hallauer House is a fascinating place to spend a night, with the unique combination of historical significance mixed with eclectic style. Proprietors Susan and Joe are gracious and welcoming. Joe will regale you with stories about the Civil War and the Underground Railroad and the impact of the local Oberlin community. A one-of-a-kind destination, well worth the visit.

For the four years our daughter attended Oberlin, we stayed at Hallauer House. She just graduated, and we will miss it! Joe and Susan provide a warm, caring place to stay. The rooms are light and comfortable, the details all taken care of!

Joe and Susan are gracious and excellent hosts. They have a deep knowledge of Oberlin and the area. Breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. We stayed when our son was in college at Oberlin many times and they were so generous that they helped us shop for his recital reception. We will have to come back even though our son graduated....
