Stayed here for 4 days with work during End of the Road festival and I cannot say how much comfort this wonderful guesthouse was at the end of a long days work! Stunning bedrooms with simple but classic British style and design. Everything at the breakfast was organic and homemade which made getting up for breakfast before work SO worthwhile,...

A wonderful stay at Lancers House. Nick and Jayne are brilliant hosts and couldn't be more helpful & attentive. Such a welcoming B&B with the most amazing breakfast! All homemade, organic and so tasty. Really comfy beds, clean, well furnished rooms. I would recommend this place to everyone!

We had hoped to stay in Shaftesbury and the Lancers was the only hotel available. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip: From the start we were impressed by Nick and Jayne's energy-saving policy and the provision of their own vegetables, eggs and their wonderful jams and marmalades. The rooms were immaculate and the range...

We stayed for 3 nights, the beds were extremely comfortable and the room was well equipped with everything to make you feel at home. The toiletries were of very high standard Molton and Brown. Nothing was too much trouble, excellent rural location with amenity to visit landmarks or shopping or beach all within car journey. I did request Gluton Free...

We found this place fairly randomly when looking relatively late for somewhere to get away to for the bank holiday weekend and I'm glad we did. Nik managed to be really helpful before we even arrived as I had a few questions about various things throughout the week by e-mail and both he and Jayne were equally friendly when we...

The Lancers is in a superb location mid way between Salisbury and Shaftsbury. The range of places to visit from this excellent B & B will be sufficient for anyone; couples, young and old and families as well. The breakfast was the best I have ever tasted, a wide range on offer and most food items are home produced. We...

Stayed one night for a nearby wedding. Easy enough to find and ample parking. Friendly staff who greeted us well. Room was small but tidy and well kept. Best thing of all was the breakfast - freshly baked croissants and amazingly good eggs royale (with a wide selection of other choices). Would go back for the food alone.

There are many good things about this family-run hotel on the A30: - impeccable service and food, both at breakfast and at dinner, with home-made items prominent on the menu -very comfortable bed and soft linen, together with some nice touches However the owners might think about a light over the bathroom sink and getting rid of the shapely ping...

This is our second stay at Lancers house within the last six months. How can you improve on perfection somehow Nic and Jayne have by extending their fantastic breakfasts with new products. The eggs come from our own free range hens that can be spotted foraging around the grounds and we bake a variety of breads on a daily basis. Why not relax in the guest lounge which is equipped with a TV and comfy sofa's.
