Went to check in yesterday and the front desk clerk acted like we were disturbing him. I travel with a service dog and the clerk asked for documentation for the dog (they are not allowed to ask for documentation per the ADA) I explained this to him and he said well our policy states not documentation we have to charge a pet fee....after a heated exchange he made a phone call and of course we were not charged a pet fee nor did I have to show documentation. But, my reservation was not for a pet friendly room (People with service animals are not required to stay in pet friendly room, we have the right to reserve any room anyone else would be allowed to reserve per the ADA). I was put in a pet friendly room which is not what I reserved and upon us checking out this morning the dog from the room next door come in our room after my dog. This is generally one reason I choose not to reserve a pet friendly room plus they generally are not as clean as the other rooms. The room itself was okay, it was pretty clean, bed was comfortable enough, there was a table with a broken leg and no chair. Cops were there because some lady staying there was going around knocking on others doors, seem some shady stuff going on from a few rooms down. I would not recommend this hotel at all, the only thing it had going for it was the housekeeping know how to clean a room. …
I average over 250 hotel nights a year and this would easily be in the top 20%. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Check-in is currently done through a window and all staff seem to properly wear masks. It is located just off the freeway, but not that far from the lovely downtown area. I will happily stay here next time I am in the area.
Despite Covid limitations in place (check in/out through safety window/no breakfasts), my stay was very nice. Clean, comfortable, quiet, safe. Very friendly owners/operators. I look forward to my stays here each year.
So I've had the dishonor of staying at this establishment twice. The price point is nice so I gave it a try. The first time I stayed here the front desk clerk was so disgustingly rude to me for no apparent reason, I was first taken aback. I'm an African American male and he is a Caucasian Male so naturally my mind started to wonder as to why this "gentleman" was being so rude to me dispute how friendly I was acting. He was literally talking down to me, nastily asking for my reservation as if it was some bougie hotel they I couldn't afford, yelling What!?! At me through the glass ass if he couldn't hear me and I was speaking a different language. Completely being disrespectful for absolutely no apparent reason. I got my keys and chalked it up to him just being a jerk and went on with my day. Fast forward to a few months later I return to stay and this employee of the month is there yet again. I walk in and he looks me up and down with a disgusted look on his face and it literally was the same wash rinse and repeat of the last time but this time as if he just had no shame about it. I went back to the room and immediately called the 1-800 number and spent about a half an hour talking with a representative and "waiting" to hear something back but holding my breath. I've worked in customer service for 15 years and I would never dream of treating a customer, let alone another human being the way this man has treated me on 2 completely separate occasions. It's sad but I highly doubt anything will happen and this man will continue to personally victimize the people "he chooses" to for whatever reason he "decides" to. Very sad. SMH…
We stayed here because it was cheap. Travelling home to NY after CO ski areas shut prematurely. Room small & dated. Furnished with an old recliner which was filthy. Front desk gave us a sheet to place over it so we could sit & eat our takeout from the Mexican restaurant next door.(Very good!) I have to disagree with other reviews, not very clean. No breakfast available due to the pandemic.
