This place is easy to find being right on the waterfront overlooking the bay and under The Nut. The reception is in an old railway station building. We were greeted at reception by a very busy woman who took us to our room across the small carpark. We took an upstairs room with spa bath and view. A small and...

A warm, friendly welcome to a beautifully presented room with the waves lapping the shore, literally a few metres from your window. All you could hope for to make you feel at home. Sadly, I had no opportunity to try the restaurant, but heard good things from locals.

Only stayed here for 2 nights as we were touring around. Rooms good size, clean, tidy and bed was very comfortable. Had an upstairs room with lovely views across the bay. Sue was very helpful and nothing to much trouble. Food served in the restaurant was good. Set on the waters edge and close to a penguin colony, that was...

We stayed for 1 night and it suited our needs. It's an easy stroll away from the wharf for the seal cruise, the shops, cafes etc. We stayed downstairs in a queen room and it was clean, presentable and had tea, coffee, biscuits, complimentary chocolates and a sleep tight bag which had tea and ear plugs. We didn't need the...

Paid AUD 200.00 for one night. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms and it the room is small but really nicely furnished and laid out with a lovely view over the water. Everything was very clean, there were some DVDs beside to TV to try if you so wished, but the Wifi was quite poor from most areas...

Ok, it doesn't look super flash, and it could be seen as dated in style, and you enter through an old railway station, but this was our nicest stay in Tasmania. It is spotless and has an array of treats provided by the caring owners to make you feel welcome. Rooms are of good size and the bed is luxurious....

Stanley Village hotel is located along the waters edge in the township. We arrived and got exactly what we booked. Two waterfront rooms, side by side, to accommodate our family with our young teens within supervision distance. The rooms were clean, generously equipped, right down to the ear plugs provided because of the noisy Little Penguins who come and go...

We stayed in the ground floor deluxe suite and it was beautiful. Very modern bathroom and the coffee machine was a great addition but the main attraction was the views across the harbour and they were stunning. It was very relaxing and peaceful sitting by the window and sipping on a scotch while watching sun set over the picturesque eastern...

Reception was helpful upon check in. Room appeared clean, had a horrible smell to it, found dirty used tissues next to the bed. Shower hadn't been cleaned properly and spa jets had hair on them. Wine glasses in the cupboard were dirty and had finger marks all over them.

Wonderful location. Great hotel/motel stay. Rooms very clean and well appointed with a great waterfront view. Full buffet breakfast set in a yesteryear railway station cosy feel steeped in history. All withing easy walking distance of Stanley Village which reminds one of a quaint old english seaside fishing village setting with the backdrop a huge volcanic mound. A must visit...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When it comes to staying in Stanley, the only place to stay is on the waterfront at Stanley Village. Stanley Village is a boutique waterfront hotel and restaurant rising from the ashes of abandoned colonial buildings. These buildings, which are nestled under the famous "Nut", have been tastefully restored and remain the hub of activity they once were, albeit in a very different use. With a genuine waterfront location all suites have absolute water views and is within walking distance of activities in the township. Our restaurant 'Stanley's on the Bay' is located in the historic Bond Store, built as a Customs Bond Store in 1835 with ships ballast. Our fully licensed a-la-carte restaurant serves the finest in locally grown produce specialising in superb steak and succulent seafood. The fully restored 'Wiltshire Railway Station' complete with railway memorabilia has been relocated and transformed in to our 'Whistle Stop Cafe' housing our breakfast bar and reception. Spend the day exploring the region, dine at ‘Stanley’s on the Bay’ or simply order in and watch the sunset over Sawyer Bay from the comfort of your suite. Although once the sun goes down you will be asked to share the view with the local penguin population who happily wonder through the property and entertain!A stay at Stanley Village will see you experience a fascinating window into Australia's colonial heritage. Our friendly team aim to provide you with a memorable stay and are here to cater to your every need. ... more   less
