The service is nothing special - had to ask where do we order? where is cutlery? sauce? etc We went for dinner as a family of five. Kids meals were okay. The roast was huge and absolutely yummy. Hubby had the chicken parmy and it was delicious.

Tried out new menu tonight - fixed price $8 Entree $15 Main $5 Dessert. How cheap is that! Price certainly did not reflect quality or size of meals. We had entree (Stuffed Mushrooms & Prawn Cocktail) Main (Scotch Fillet & Chicken Parmy) Dessert (Sticky Date & big enough to share). All meals beautiful - salads fresh & yummy. Steak generous...

Ordered the "Crumbed Scallops" had a table with a ocean view! Delicious scallops with homemade old fashioned salads & crisp hot chips & homemade mayo! Reasonable priced & so yummy ,service a little bit slow but then again the place was full, staff very friendly ,very old hotel with lots of character, enjoyed walking around & the open fires burning!

Oh dear, what a dreadful experience for my family. Should have known better to order after waiting forever for the wait staff to acknowledge us between their gossiping. Ordered drinks, glasses filthy as was jug of soft drink. Saw other dirty jugs not washed but just put back in fridge. Knowing there was no other place in Penquin open, we...

Called in for dinner, we had the fish and roast of the day. Both meals for the cost were quite ordinary, a few peas, one potato, and a piece of corn. Hard to believe a chef cooked it. Would think twice about going back for another meal.

This hotel was a short walk from where we were staying - the owners of our guest house described the food as "honest pub food"- well, we were very impressed. Monday to Thursday the hotel runs a $12 meal special for both lunch and dinner...and the steaks did not disappoint! The mushroom sauce was divine. Very happy with the food...

Recently went to the Neptune hotel with another couple where all four of us were let down by the standard of the meals. I ordered the scotch which was under cooked as were the chips with CREAMY mushroom sauce which used to be beautiful. The menu still states that it's a creamy sauce yet it has no sign of cream....

I have eaten here before and would have to agree about the previous goodman food service menu. I am glad to say that things have changed. Had a steak and veg tonight and couldn't fault it. Service was great, food was fresh and well prepared. Good honest pub food.
