Saw this place on the internet and booked for the night. We arrived to find the place just shutting up...at 3.00 in the afternoon, as the owners had to rush of to Hobart on business. No problem, it was a nice day, so we spent some time buying artworks in the local shops and enjoying a drink and nibbles (which...

We drove to Hamilton for a lunch time treat. The food on offer for lunch are pies salads and sandwiches. We all had a huge pie with salad and chips. Yummy. The place is historic with quaint rooms full of antiques and objects of interest. We drank our tea from fine bone China cups and the kids had coke. Friendly...

We stopped at Hamilton Inn for lunch. What an interesting place; built in 1826 by a pardoned convict it is an eclectic place that is now home to an assortment of “stuff” collected over the years. The bar area is a mottled collection of exposed beams, tarps that look like sails wrapped around the ceiling timbers, fairy lights, tables and...

This place was a destination in its own right. The owners were friendly. The decor not necessarily coherent but definitely interesting. The beds were ok except one which was at risk of collapse. We ate dinner here as well and it was surprisingly good. Not a polished place but fun to have had in our itinerary.

We were supprised in this tiny village to find such warm hospitality after a long drive especially on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble, had a lovely meal and a great nights sleep. Thanks

I had stayed at Hamilton Inn on 2 occasions years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had changed little, other than having new owners. If you want character then this is the place to stay. The rooms are quaint and very comfortable and the bar area/restaurant great with the roaring log fire . But the best thing...

We drove from Hobart to Cradle mountain this early morning and looked for some place for breakfast. Fortunately we found this place while all the others probably still in bed in this winter morning. It's on another side of road if u drive towards north and it's not beside main road, so please don't miss it when u pass by...

Haven't stayed overnight yet but a great place for morning tea beside a wood fire. Best scones in Tasmania. Gina & John are wonderful hosts and some of the old antiques are truly fascinating, some I have never heard of. Looking f forward to another visit.

Do yourself a favour and spend a night at this quirky, relaxed, 19th century, clean and comfy Hotel when heading west from Hobart. John is a lovely guy who serves good food, even better coffee and likes a chat . Hope we get the chance to call in again. Jan and Bruce
